Hey guys....
Welps... Where do I start. Ok I'm sick of the gambling chit. I think im gonna lose all my hair the way the past few weeks have gone. And this duke loss has me going crazy. I got f'ed on the first half and second half and tease ... anywho what I'm gettin at is.. if anyone cares... I'm calling it quits after this week. I need to start saving up my money and just need a break from all of it. I will do my best to come in here but I dunno if I will. I hope to make it back in time for MLB but till then Teddy is hanging it up for a while. Was fun with the late night threads and met a whole bunch of cool guys (you know who you all are) and I actually felt "cool" and like I knew what I was doing. Anyways I hope to just have a decent next few days and will be playing light. Dunno if anyone really cares but I just thought someone would

Teddy, you will be missed. I didn't always respond, but I read your plays daily. You have to do what is good for you. If that means leaving the gambling behind for awhile sobeit. everyone gets to the point of burnout, and i'm sure you would like to go out ahead, been there, done that and shot my whole bank roll before. The rest will do you some good, best of luck, who knows maybe you'll get on a roll these last 3 days, and rest knowing you have a decent bankroll for baseball:toast: to all of the good late night fun we've had.

I sure have enjoyed your presence in this forum and hope to continue doing so. Especially late nite since it's only late afternoon/early eve. here in the islands.

I've been through this myself. Call it what you will, an unbearable losing streak, bad beats....and tonight the Dukies was one of the worst bad beats I'd ever witnessed. However one bad day or even a few does not a season make. If I'm frustrated yes I will play lightly for a bit or even take a day off or two. Then I'll be back in. We often handicap a player or team's emotions and mental state. Well, the same apply to us as gamblers. We have to keep our cool, avoid chasing losses and take a timeout (sit our a few games, if you will) if need be.

Your documented record shows you're a good capper. I hope to see you back sometime soon.

Personally I only play college hoops and bases, I take my break during football season.

You will be terribly missed. I can't tell you how much help you've given me by just making me aware of the first half unders in the Big East.

More importantly, I've permanently saved a lot of the late night thread material. The humor you've brought is at least as important as the capping. It's sometimes hard to explain while I'm reading this stuff at work. People want to know what's so funny. I can't very well tell them it's a handicapping site.

Anyway, back off and take it easy for a bit. You've earned it.

...what to say??? :shrug: We've had some good laughs and made a little $$ in the process...and as long as I've seen you post, you've never been anything less than a gentleman.

Hold your head high young man as you've done a great job, both as a handicapper and as a model citizen of MadJack's land.... I know you've been putting in countless hours and (in the back of my mind) wondered how long you could make it before hitting the burnout stage.... There's more to life than gambling and you should get out and experience some of it.... I'm sure you'll be back at some point, but until then, take it slow and easy...and if it's good, take it twice.

I consider you my friend so im going to speak honestly.
I HATE to see this...My first thoughts are "hey man we all have bad weeks. Your up 1500 units. Suck it up and grind this out. things will turn around they always do."take a look at the Wolf, struggled a bit for awhile, now hes kicking ass and takeing names! When i go through bad spells, i play less games. And take advantage of the great cappers in here. Start Coat-tailing some of these magnificent bastards!!! They are here to help not show off records...

Man the best time of the year is just around the corner! MARCH MADNESS!! id hate to see you on the sidelines.

I too have been burned out. In fact i also took a much needed break from Mad Jacks. (almost a year break) i was gone so long i couldnt remember my screen name and password so i changed to the Gibber. So i know how you feel.. we all need a break.
but, the difference between you and me is that i was not up 1500 units!!! I was out of control, no money management, betting every game, and every halftime line. until i was 15 large in the hole........

but with a nice rest i came back with a better head on my shoulders and i enjoy this again..if its not enjoyable anymore than its probably time for you to go.. (god i hate saying that)

so, if you leave, please have a nice rest and come back soon.
youve been a big help around here and you will be missed..i doubt the late crew will survive with out you .

I thought I 'd add my 2 cents to the mix. I've only been on MadJack's a couple of weeks but I've been lurking for a couple of months.
There's a handful of contributors that I check every day. . . you being among them. Before I get all teary eyed and weepy, I just want to say one thing. . .

All seriousness aside, I've been down that burnout road myself a few times and like another individual mentioned, there's a world outside of gambling. I try to confine my activities to one hour of gambling a day, place my bets and go about the rest of my life. I'll check the scores at the end of the day. There's some days I don't even bet (rarely). This works for me. I know where you're coming from, and I can appreciate your new direction.
