VILLANOVA/MARQUETTE
Going to play the 1H under tonight on the same thinking of last night as Villanova will be making its appearance at MSG tonight. And just like last night like the Cuse they will have many freshman playing tonight. Both teams avg'd 31.4(marquette) and 30.3ppg(nova) last year on the road for 1H. Againt just like the cuse game and unless they start heaving up 30-40 foot 3 pointers it should stay under the number. As for the side... Villanova's most experienced player Gary Buchanan is most likely out of tonights game. Buchanan lead the team in scoring last year with 17.8 PPG. He has been out since Oct. 25 with a sprained mcl. Villanova has improved there defense over the past 2 years from 74ppg to 63 ppg, going from worst in the Big East to 3rd best. Marquette will also be shorthanded with the loss of backup guard Karon Bradley to knee surgery on Tuesday, so Dwyane Wade will have to play a lot as both the starting shooting guard and backup to Travis Diener at the point. Wade lead the team with 17.8 points, 6.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists last year. The Golden Eagles also will debut senior forward Robert Jackson, a transfer from Mississippi State. Jackson averaged 11.3 points and 7.3 rebounds two years ago as a junior with the Bulldogs before transferring to be closer to home. Marquette's starting lineup also features freshman Steve Novak, a highly touted newcomer. Novak was a top prospect who chose the Golden Eagles over Illinois and Florida.

TEXAS/GEORGIA 1H UNDER 70

Again same reasoning, opening day at MSG. Last season Texas avg 34.5 points 1h and Georgia avg 37.6 points/1h. The first 5 minutes will be key in this game. As soon as the flow picks up and nerves settle down it will be a more steady scoring game. Texas (0-0) returns all five starters from last season and is one of three Big 12 Conference teams ranked in the top five, joining Kansas and Oklahoma. The Longhorns went 22-12 a year ago and lost to Oregon in a regional semifinal game of the NCAA Tournament. Point guard T.J. Ford is back after leading the nation in assists at 8.3 per game as a freshman last season. Brandon Mouton, who averaged 13.7 points per game, is the starting shooting guard and James Thomas is the center and leading returning rebounder at 8.9 boards per game. The Longhorns started Deginald Erskin, a North Texas transfer, in 23 games a year ago. He joins Ford and Royal Ivey in a three-guard lineup. Ivey, a native of nearby Queens, also scored in double figures a year ago. Georgia (0-0) returns seven of its eight leading scorers from last season but will be without a pair of starters for this contest. Center Chris Daniels is serving a one-game suspension for participating in an uncertified basketball event and forward Steve Thomas is academically ineligible for the fall semester. Coach Jim Harrick also saw his entire recruiting class fail to qualify except for freshmen Wayne Arnold and Clark Williams. But Harrick has a talented backcourt returning in Jarvis Hayes and Ezra Williams, who combined to average more than 35 points per game a year ago.

Team to leave to go home.... ahhh be back later

E. WASHINGTON +13.5 AND E. WASHINGTON UNDER 131

Was kind of hoping the line would have swung up a little bit more but it didnt. Eastern (17-13 last year) is picked by many to win the Big Sky Conference this year. The Eagles opened up last year by stunning 10th ranked St Josephs 68-67 in the first round of the BCA Classic. The same team also had a 16 point lead at half time against Gonzaga to only blow it and lose in OT. Wisconsin went 19-13 but were hot after a slow 1-4 start then won 15 of there last 20 games and won the Big 10 title. Eagles have nothing to lose in this game coming in as big underdogs. Eagles HC Ray Giacoletti on tonights game says "It's a golden opportunity for our program. We have nothing to lose, so we'll go out and take a great big swing at the giant. We need to be aggressive and hungry. If you want respect, you have to go earn it." "Last year we played St. Joseph?s on a neutral court. Wisconsin had 16,000 people in each of their exhibition games, so there won?t be anything neutral about this game. But that?s alright ? we?ve played in front of big crowds before. We want to be put in those situations to help us once the conference season gets here." And as for the total here are Ciacoletti's thoughts... "So it didn?t matter how poorly we shot the ball. We want to try to limit opponents to 30 points a half, and we held them to 31." That was the qoute from there exhibition game against NBC thunder... They only shot 41% at half but ended up at 52% after shooting 66% in the second half. Eagles held NBC Thunder to 32% for the game. Player to watch in this game will be Chris Hester, the senior guard-forward led the Eagles in scoring at 13.5 points per game and rebounding at 4.6. In conference games, he averaged 17.1 points and shot a league-best 68.3%. Wisconsin clearly has the better team but will they play down to there competition? 13.5 points is way to much in what should be a low scoring defensive game. Gimme the points and the under

Good luck to everyone tonight whichever side you play! I'm going to bed... gotta do a night shift tonight (after a morning shift) Go me!

Btw thanks for the kudos Gibby ;) Big mondays will be here soon enough!
