The last time these two met, Kovalchuk wasn't in. ATL outscored WAS in 2 games 15-4. WAS is coming off a rout against PHI last night. Both teams are are top 5 in the most PIM/g and top 3 in the worst PK. However, ATL has the 3rd ranked PP. In fact, ATL's PP on the road is tied for first clicking at a 33.3% pace. Dunham might be back in net after being injured which should only help solidify the Thrashers defensively. I feel bad for Kolzig, no goalie deserves what he's faced.

STL has let in 12 goals in the last three games and are facing a hot EDM offense that is finally clicking with Smyth and Horcoff back. No coincedence that Smyth's return coincides with the win streak and offensive preformance. This is the return for Pronger to STL so the team will play hard. Meanwhile STL will get it's captain back (Dallas Drake) from suspension. Fatigue of back to back road games should allow STL to put some in themselves while EDM's offense keeps on chugging.
