Outright plays (total stake per play: 1.5pts)

Ryan Moore to win 33/1 e.w. @ BetInternet and Boyle Sports
Except for a 2nd place finish in the Buick Championship in July, this season had been one to forget for Moore, but that has been largely due to surgery on a hand problem that he had earlier in the year. It has been so bad that he picks the club straight up in front of him to about belt height and then begins his backswing, but there have been reports that he is getting back to full fitness and it is evident from his finishes. In his last five starts, he has finishes of 6th, 6th, 9th and 12th. After his glittering amateur career, largely while at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, this is what was expected of him. And he should continue this form in Las Vegas once again and has one horror hole to make amends for from last year. He was in 2nd place last year after two rounds, but had to one-putt the 16th green for a NINE after repeatedly finding the water in the gusty conditions. He shouldn't make that mistake again.

Bo Van Pelt to win 50/1 e.w. available generally
Van Pelt also struggled on the 16th hole at Summerlin in the 3rd round, finding the water and taking seven en route to finishing alongside Moore in 16th place. And like Moore, he has shown very good form recently, starting the final round in 6th place in each of his last two events and finishing in the top-5 two weeks ago. He doesn't also share the anticipation that surrounds Ryan Moore's future, but there is plenty enough form here to suggest a play at these odds.

Ted Purdy to win 66/1 e.w. @ Paddy Power
Purdy has given himself plenty of chances over the last four weeks and he would really like a chance to try again in this event. A year ago, he held a two-shot lead heading into the final round, was a very impressive four-under-par for the front nine to stay out in front, but his title chance ended on the penultimate hole when his tee-shot to the par-3 hit a sprinkler head at the side of the green and ricocheted into the water. He took a triple-bogey six and finished two shots out of the playoff. In the last four weeks, he has had two top-5 finishes and was in 2nd place with one round to play in the Texas Open, so he is playing well enough to give himself another shot at winning if he can safely negotiate the 17th this time.
