He was horrible. He's rated as the 3rd worst president in history for a reason. He didn't come through on his promises. He lost jobs and completely bumbled the one crisis he had to manage through. He's a devisive, miserable, criminal that tried to overthrow the results of a free and fair election.

Trump lost in 2020 because he didn't deliver on his campaign promises, incited an Insurrection, his policies were divisive (eg., Muslim ban), and he botched the response to COVID-19 which led to the high inflation environment we're working our way out of. His biggest advantage is that people are blaming Biden for stuff that originated with him.
