Bruce should win that one straight away without any spread and we have +7.5M I'll take it!

i know you are the man around here and you do have a good record but on this one ill have to disagree.

jim carrey comedies not dramas tend to make an average of 30 million in the opening weekend. the grinch made 50 something but was more kid oriented and a much bigger production with the seuss thing going for it.
i believe bruce almighty will be in the 30 to 35 range.

you really don't respect finding nemo. monsters inc had a 60 mil opening, shrek a 42, toy story 2 in the 50's. ice age 46. bugs life 36. the horrible antz 17 but it sucked ass.
finding nemo is in their calibre. with more commercials coming out soon. it will be a big weekend.

again i don't mean to get in on your turf but i just felt that these numbers were necessary for you to see.

Glad to see another opinion!

Finding Nemo isn't as good as Ice Age nor Toy Story 2 and i can't see Bruce just doind 35M or less this weekend. In fact, i see more in the 50's so the +7.5M is a gift. I'm not a fan of Carrey but that kind of comedy is his strenght and you will see much more people than you expect my friend... Don't forget the huge numbers so far this year for comedy's movies and the recent flop of a certain Treasure planet....

i understand your 50 mil bruce point and it can happen.
i just think you under estimate nemo.
its not just kids that will see it. treasure planet pure kids but old style animation.
nemo animation will get the geeks going for sure. from what ive read, its a very beautiful looking movie. as long as the preview is strong. which i actually haven't seen it will do big business.

I saw the previews and it looks good but their lack of advertising (that movie is out within 10 days!) will hurt them. They will probably do in the 50's too so that is why getting +7.5 on Bruce is nice...

would you consider bruce almighty a date movie? with jennifer aniston and all?

I much prefer an OVER/UNDER or movie vs movie. Your odds aren't enough good to try to "guess" on these estimates...

Congrats. I am surprised how well Bruce A. did this weekend. I think Nemo will have a great weekend too but I doubt it will cover against Bruce A at this point.

I am a big Pixar fan. Probably well take the family to see it next weekend.
