Stanford stinks, lost everybody and hard school to recruit too, Xavier ranked 12th, that doesnt mean they are any good, I know nothing about Xavier, but I know Stanford is a sub 500 team this year. 5 pts seems real short.

The line looks like a joke. Xavier is very strong; The Sporting News had them ranked 5th in the country. They return 4 starters, nice inside/outside mix. Stanford loses its 2 top scorers from last season and has a key reserve who still is playing WR on the football team. Stanford is going to have to improve a whole lot in 2 days if they are going to cover.

Xavier is upset that Stanford got the home game in this tournament because the Pac 10 is a higher ranked conf then A 10. The sky is the limit for this Xavier team as I wouldn't be surprised at all if they landed in the final four come March. Excellent inside and outside game with valuable tournament experience. Stanford will struggle to score the rock all night. Personally I can see Xavier putting this game away early.

That game just goes to show you what better coaching means in college basketball, Basketball is a thinking mans game, and Xavier didnt play very smart. Bobby Knight is right when he says he would rather recruit a kid that knows the game, then some kid that has a good verticale leap but takes ill advised shots.

HHM--

Have to agree. Xavier may have more athleticism but I thought they played a little lazy last night. Stanford seemed to get all the loose balls and played w/a greater sense of urgency. For Xavier's sake, I hope they learned their lesson.

No doubt about it gentlemen! Not the Xavier team I or effort that I thought we would see. It also goes to show that you a well respected program from a major conference getting points at home seems to thrive on being underdogs. We'll get em next time....

Stanford lost their big names, but they still have guys who can play...Davis, Childress, Barnes...sure, Sato and West are very good, besides them and Chalmbers to a certain extent, they don't have that much talent...nothing on their team that should warrant them going into Stanford as a 6pt fave.
