Galbraith passed away at the age of 97. Born in a small farming village in Ontario Canada. He went on to a life of politics and economics.
though seen as a liberal economist wrote many books (sold over 7 million books, not to many economists can claim that) and put out many different ideas. Wrote on history of the 1929 crash, and in the end was widely respected from both side of the political divide.
note: only read one of his books.
Louis Rukeyser the famous host of Wall Streek Week which ran for 30+ years on PBS, also passed away this week.
was really the first financial show of its kind. and helped show their was an audiance (most popular on PBS) and helped to lead to other shows and financial networks.
seemed like a good show though only saw it about half a dozen times during its run.
thanks
