2 questions--
1-a friend got pinched yesterday in NY. He worked for 2 guys-just answering phones. No trouble with the law before-what might happen??
2-What is the protocal to the customers who wagered the week the guys were pinched??
Anybody know??

Thanks
WW

sorry whale, that question will have to be answered by someone local; there's a wide range of possible charges (and degrees of seriousness) that can apply to such a case. as for collection/payment protocol, as paying or collecting would be committing more illegal acts after being charged initially, have to think that all activity comes to an end (if the guy has any sense).

Vanished into vortex
Knew a guy in PA that got nabbed a few years back for book-making, and was taking serious action, much bigger than mine and he paid a fine and was told to stop or next time would result in jail time, he did quit and that was that. Nothing ever happend to the peope he took bets from as far as I know, and I know a few people that were involved.

Same here went thru this twices in the 70's. They want info on the book so he can pay a nice fine. They most offten leave the players alone. They will warn them to stop. Workers at a parlor could get off with warnings and some info given up. But if there geting a % they will be finded also.
