Seen Rounders so many times I wish it would just self destruct in my cabinet.

Cincinnati Kid is hands down one of my Top 3 if not my Top 1 gambling movie. Maybe I just love old Steve McQueen flicks too much, but this movie is great.

So Cal
The Hustler - a real classic
The Gambler - obscure movie starring James Cahn and based on Feodore Dostoyevsky's novel.

California Split (1974)

California Split (1974)

one of Robert Altman's better ones.

Elliott Gould and George Segal play two different types of degenerate gamblers. This movies gets you in the characters--the highs and lows of chasing " the big score", futile hopes, big wins, and deep into the world of bettors better than any of the other ones. Poker, sportsbetting and the ponies are all here.
best to see in original widescreen print.

I liked the Sting a lot.found a "mistake' in it also.Near the end they say that a 3-1 shot paid $6,should be $8.small potatoes but enjoyed picking that up.

I'd save your money.

It's hard to find. Honestly, i didn't like it very much at all. It was pretty slow in the middle. It's vintage Altman and kind of gritty, but I thought it was pretty boring too.

I loved the first 15 minutes though. Great depiction of a real card room and a great bar scene following it.
