I have been on a mini hot streak lately. As background I keep a box in my Sock Drawer with my gambling money. Me and my wife like to play craps and we go whenever we can. The closest casino to us is an hour away and the CT casionos are a two hour drive. If all goes good we can go a couple of times a month. Not loaded with money we have to be careful my gambling box does not go down too low.

With two of us playing craps it is very easy for us to lose $300 each on any given night.

My wife has been staying with my daughter who just had her second baby, a boy, I am a grandfather of two now. A girl 3 and the new baby.

The only downside of being a grandfather that I can see is that I find myself sleeping with a grandmother! LOL

Anyway what I want your opinion on is that the last 4 nights i went to the Casino close by. I won $500, $40, $100 and $200 In the 4 nights.

MY question is the time I spent gambling. For the $500 is was about 2 hours. About the same for the $40, on the 100 and the 200 wins I was less than 30 minutes.

I have a system that tells me when to get out.

Would you have left with the 100 and 200 dollar wins or would you have stayed?

I should add I always had to work the next day.

One of my many Commandments is always leave a winner if you are up even $40.
Craps is a game of runs. More often than not >>>> 7 outs . I play almost every day sometimes 2 3 times or more.. . Hope you are a "Wrong" player because "right" players never win long term. the 3 4 points in a row is a rarety. I know .....been tracking rolls fer 30 years and ran outcomes thru a computer twice
No right player ever wins long term I see it every day. Color Ups are rare. To sum up whenever u get up make sure u dont give it back....also good for your mental state. $40 bucks will buy you a good meal or fill your gas tank.....Beats the heck out of asking """"frys with that sir "" or working for some ass hole..
Hope That Helps !

Upstairs watching sports on the big TV.
Hardest time to leave a casino is when

Hardest time to leave a casino is when

you are up a little dab....

The lure of more action usually gets me when I am up....vid poker is my weakness. If it wasn't for Jack posting his Royals, I would forget what one looks like.:00x24

Worse thing is when you dedicate several hours for leisurely casino play and you are up almost immediately; you really don't want to leave early, you might hit "the big one" so you give it back and more.

Were back to the discipline discussion, much like sports betting.

Spending my winters in Vegas makes it doubly tough, TOO many tempting ways to "Invest your money".

if someone hires me today for 1 hour and is willing to pay me $100.00 dollars for that 1 hour of work and the only rule is I gotta go watch every body else lose money in the casino after that 1 hour.

My resume' is on your desk..

This would be my solution....

This would be my solution....

You won about $840? Right, well that's what it looks like. I would have fun with it but limit yourself. I like to knock it out of the park on Sports betting, some times I win big and sometimes I lose big. This has happened the last few years.

One thing I am good about is my casino gambling. I have discipline. I limit myself to $100 of losses, then I quit. I always quit when I make 50%-100% bankroll too. This means if I win $50 on my initial $100 and have $150 I quit and go home or do something else. Also, I usually have a $1,000 bankroll when I step foot in a casino, it's usually at least that. I would try to limit yourself to losses of $84 and use my same method. If your up 50-100% quit. If you lose $84, no big deal but quit. Really limits your losses, but yet gives you room to expand upon your money as well.

Above the Clouds....
Have a good friend of mine that takes a $100 bill and puts into the slot machine. (That's all we have is slots no table games) If he's ahead even $20 he pulls it and cashs in. I've seen some of his print outs the man goes home a winner. Because he plays they sent him a $10 free play. He put that in with his $100 and hit a jackpot of $25,002. He always takes money home!

We are doing ok long term. It is hard because I am the bank for two of us. usually at the same table but on different ends! LOL she makes me nervous.

What I do is something like you guys suggest. For instance last night I showed up at the table with a $200 bankroll. There was only three of us at the table, a rarity around here, my wife was not with me. The first guy was a pretty fast 7 out. Next to shoot was me. I had over $500 of chips in my tray when the Devil showed.

So I took $400 and said that is my guarantee and I will not touch it. But I will play with the little over $100 I had. The other two guys did nothing and I lost I put the rest of my hundred down on my throw and I did nothing.

That left me, about 15 minutes after starting, with $418 So I gave the dealers $15 and left with the $403. I agree leave while winning.

As for going and blowing the $800 I might if I only went a few times a year but where we go so often I have to keep a stash in my sock drawer!

True story on one of those half assed holidays like Columbus Day or something I headed out to Mohegan Sun. I hit a few hot shooters in a row and I was up $600 in about an hour.

I thought i was too early to leave and lost my excess and was into my guarantee. I played and lost and lost and lost. Thinking the table had to turn around I lost some more until I lost all my winnings as well as my bankroll.

It was a long two hour ride home. Calling myself every name in the book all the way home.

I get home and my son, in college at the time, says he needs $500 to get his car fixed! The exact number I lost! How cool would it have been to peel off 5 hundreds from my pocket, but no, I gave it back to the Indians!

I still had to come up with the $500 to get his car fixed. Anyway, that is a lesson I never forgot.

FOUR quotes I will always remember from my youthful days of gambling

" HE WHO WINS AND RUNS AWAY COMES BACK TO PLAY ANOTHER DAY."

"90% OF THE PEOPLE IN THE CASINO/RACE TRACK WISH THEY COULD SAY THEY WERE EVEN

" WHENEVER YOU WIN MONEY GAMBLING, BUY YOURSELF SOMETHING, OR YOU'LL JUST GIVE IT BACK"

" YOU'RE NEVER REALLY WINNING MONEY GAMBLING. YOU'RE JUST BORROWING IT."

HOPE THIS HELPS :0008
