Things to Watch

2. Where is Arland Bruce III?

Bruce is the Argos' primary wide receiver threat and lines up in several different spots across the field. Ticat defensive co-ordinator Greg Marshall said the team won't do anything special to try to stop Bruce but he's warned his defensive backs to be aware of where the Argo is at all times. Halfback Geoff Tisdale will see a lot of Bruce and safety Sandy Beveridge will likely look to provide help whenever he can.

3. Will things get wild?

The CFL has changed the rules this year to allow the so-called "wildcat formation" that sees the ball snapped directly to a running back and quarterbacks lined up wide. Both teams have some mobility at quarterback and may look to add a new wrinkle to their offences.

1. The opening video montage

Head coach Marcel Bellefeuille hasn't named a starting quarterback -- Quinton Porter and Kevin Glenn are in the running -- and says he won't until game time. But the new video montage the team plays just before kickoff features Porter prominently, though apparently there is a second version without him the team can use if he's not the starter. If Porter's in the montage, he's probably starting and, if he isn't, Glenn is likely under centre.

BY THE NUMBERS

50 Number of first-year CFL players on the Tiger-Cats' roster when they opened training camp

2 Total number of Ticat wins in June and July over the past four seasons

44 Years of CFL coaching experience of the Ticats' head coach and offensive and defensive co-ordinators

1 Years of CFL coaching experience of the Argos' head coach, offensive co-ordinator and defensive co-ordinator

At the Stadium

A Canadian celebration will take place at Ivor Wynne tomorrow as thousands of Canadian flags and pins will be given away at the gates.

The Canadian Forces Search and Rescue technicians will parachute into the stadium and two CF-18 fighter jets will fly over just before the 7 p.m. kickoff of the season opener between the Ticats and the Toronto Argonauts.

At halftime, the Ticats will pay tribute to the Canadian military.
