You've got to be happy with the first week of the 2010 NFL season - unless you're a Detroit Lions fan. They had an apparent game-winning touchdown taken away in a 19-14 loss to the Chicago Bears because of the ?process? rule. They also lost QB Matthew Stafford to a shoulder injury. But at least Detroit beat the NFL odds as a 6.5-point road dog. Let's see who'll make some money this week; all times are Eastern, and Bodog Sports has the latest lines at the click of a mouse.

1. NFL: New England at N.Y. Jets (Sunday, 4:15 p.m.)

The Jets (9-7 SU and ATS last year) kick off their 2010 campaign at home Monday night against the Baltimore Ravens, so at least there's no travel complicating their short turnaround for Week 2. But New York does have to deal with the Patriots (10-6 SU, 7-7-2 ATS), who have won at least 10 games every year since 2002. The Pats are already well on their way after dusting off the Cincinnati Bengals 38-24 as 5-point home faves. Wes Welker caught eight passes for 64 yards and a pair of touchdowns, apparently healthy after tearing up his knee last year. The Jets (+3.5) beat the Patriots 16-9 when they met in Week 2 of the 2009 campaign.

2. MLB: N.Y. Yankees at Tampa Bay (Tuesday, 7:10 p.m.)

We've got a tremendous battle for first place in the American League East between the two best teams in baseball. Check Bodog Sports for the latest MLB betting lines.

3. Soccer: Liverpool at Manchester United (Sunday, 8:30 a.m.)

Both of these big-name Premiership teams are coming off draw results on the road, but that's entirely unacceptable for Manchester United (two wins, two draws). They were up 3-1 on Everton before giving up two goals in stoppage time. Meanwhile, Liverpool (one win, one loss, two draws) played to a 0-0 final at Birmingham City. United's two victories were both at Old Trafford by the score of 3-0, over Newcastle United and West Ham. They're -130 favorites to defend their home turf; Liverpool are +375, and another draw would pay out at +240.

4. CFL: Calgary at Saskatchewan (Friday, 9:00 p.m.)

This season is quickly running away from the Roughriders (6-4 SU, 5-5 ATS). They were creamed 31-2 on Sunday by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers as 3.5-point road faves, managing only a pair of singles against the last-place team in the East Division. The Riders committed two turnovers while having two takeaways of their own wiped out by penalties ? and that was just the first half. They've dropped the cash in each of their last three games, while the Stampeders (9-1 SU, 8-2 ATS) are on a five-game SU and ATS winning streak, albeit against the worst teams in the West in the Edmonton Eskimos and B.C. Lions. The schedule gets much harder for Calgary from here.

5. MMA: Nate Marquardt vs. Rousimar Palhares (Card Begins Wednesday, 8:00 p.m.)

The main event of UFC Fight Night 22 is a middleweight bout between Marquardt (29-9-2 lifetime, 8-3 UFC) and Palhares (11-2 lifetime, 4-1 UFC), both experts in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, although Marquardt is also proficient in kickboxing. Sherdog has Marquardt ranked fourth in the world in the middleweight class, coming off a unanimous decision loss to No. 2 Chael Sonnen in February that earned Fight of the Night honors. Palhares is unranked, but making a name for himself after winning his last three fights, the last two with his patented heel hook submission. Marquardt is the -210 favorite at press time; Palhares is priced at +170.
