butler-7 4*
unlv-3 5* af doesnot have the quickness to off set unlv they are not going to be able to slow the game down if they get behind and cannot match up on the boards with them, johnson ,banks and kelly can drill the 3"s better then af and the falcons will have trouble shooting over banks and johnson.
the only wat af can stay in this game is hold the ball and not shoot till clock is under 10,rebs played very good first half against cowboys but major let up in the 2nd shooting 29% and that isnot like this team, they will put up 15-20 3 pointers and hit 7-8,they will press and push the tempo as soon as they get a 2 point lead and keep it going the whole game, this will take af out of it,and there is no-way the falcons can play inside and on the boards with the rebs. if unlv gets out early it will be along night for the falcons.

fletcher, thanks for the write-up. good stuff.

about altitude and air force/colorado/col state/denver/wyoming/whoever else -- do you make that a more significant factor when a team is coming in on limited rest? I ask because UNLV just played on Sat, and now comes in versus a rested AF team?

thanks for any other info you can post!

Wondering on the effort put forth by the Rebs. Didn't watch the Wyoming game but it seemed Wyoming controlled the game from the tip in a game the Rebs should have won. I remember you were right on back in CFB season about UNLV's collapse, just trying to get your feel on this year's BBall team.

Thanks Fletcher...

Yes Air FOrce will be at a disadvantage as far as athletes are concerned---But Air Force can play well at home---and NJO brings up a solid point on Air Force being rested. This will be a close game throughout--but at the end does Air Force have the player to step up and get a hoop when they need it.If not--UnlV may cover late with free-throws. SLight lean for me----Air Force +3( i got them on a teaser up at 8)

the altitude is not much off a diff hell we are way up in the air, rebs always have trouble with woy,and infact thtas the team that will win the mt.west, played bad 2nd half 29% shoots just didnot fall. af is like 1 and 15 the last 16 games or so against unlv would have to go check but the rebs handle them most of the time the last 8-10 years.

Interesting matchup tonight as we have UNLV which loves to run the floor while Air Force plays a 1990's Princeton style of basketball by slowing the tempo of their games as evidenced by the fact that they only average 40 FGs per game.

Fletcher is 100% correct in that the key to this game will be whether UNLV can jump out to an early lead and "force" Air Force to speed up the tempo of their style of play.

fletcher, my bad on the altitude -- it's not like Las Vegas is at sea level.

thanks for the follow-up.

AFA hasn't beaten UNLV since 1981. UNLV won both games last year (+11 at home, +8 away). Neither team impress me enough to play.
