Thinking about turning the wood fireplace into a gas fireplace. Anyone do this recently? Looking for an approximate price to see if it is worth it. Sick of chopping/stacking wood...

Thanks in advance!

I just replaced my current gas fireplace with a new one...

The starter (igniter) was $125

The grate, rocks, sand and pan were another $175.
I was able to use the same logs, the guy said those run around $200-$300.

I went cheap, because I will not be in the house for more than a few years. I did not do much research, but from what I could see a cheap set is around $500 and they can go up to about $1000.

Also, my gas line wass already there, so there was no cost for that.
