Really looking forward to the rubbermatch. The first two fights were among the best of the year. I've heard that Ward plans to make this his final hurrah and retire after this bout. I'm amazed at how much punishment he can absorb and still manage to press the action. I was on Gatti for the first two fights, but I'm thinking that maybe Ward goes out a winner. Since Gatti is notorious for swelling, I can see this fight being stopped due to a bad cut around his eyes. I'm thinking of playing...

Well, that was ugly. Ward looked like he was suffering from the same heart problem that slowed Holyfield to a crawl in his fight against Moorer. I can't understand why he did not unleash a series of exchanges after Gatti broke his right hand. Props to Gatti for dominating a fight with a left hand.

props to both these fighters.....in their three fights they have shown what boxing should really be about. They went toe to toe and threw a fury of punches in each round of each fight. There was no B.S. hugging, no early K.O.(also known as quicK payOff). They fought hard and busted their :moon: to win each fight.

I agree Lucky ... if more boxing matches were like the fights involving these warriors, it would not be a dying sport dominated by greedy, unscrupulous people like Don King and many other promoters. Plus, fighters today fight once, maybe twice a year and half the time, take an easy fight over a tough one that might be worth it to watch.

i thought it was a great fight

best part was the post-fight interview

both fighters stood there together and even shared a bottle of water...how often will you EVER see that

thought is showed how much respect they had for each other

boxing needs more fighters like gatti and ward

great comments,guys

great comments,guys

happy to see a plugger like micky ward glorify a good career with this trilogy....i understand he walked with $700,000........earned every penny of it....and the respect of boxing fans everywhere....ditto gatti....a much better fighter with mcgirt in his corner.......

why can`t all athletes conduct themselves with this much class.....but then again, guys like tim duncan and jason kidd get treated like an afterthought while a-holes like iverson are glorified by the media.......

we have a serious media problem in the u.s......many of these guys would be right at home working for the enquirer or one of the other rags....

but that`s another thread for another day.....

some stuff coming up....getting back on the stick...g.l.
