Georges St-Pierre set to defend title at UFC 124
A highly-anticipated, long-awaited Mixed Martial Arts rematch takes place when Josh Koscheck battles Georges St-Pierre at UFC 124 this weekend.
Koscheck will be trying to upset, and unseat, St-Pierre for the UFC Welterweight Championship at the Bell Centre in Montreal, St-Pierre?s hometown.
UFC 124 Odds at betED.com have the champion as a huge favorite, with St-Pierre as a -500 favorite to retain his title. Koscheck is a +300 underdog.
St-Pierre completely dominated Koscheck in their last fight at UFC 74.
Both fighters have had great success in building their MMA careers since then, particularly St-Pierre. He has tore his way through the UFC, dominating the welterweight division. Since he reclaimed the championship against Matt Serra at UFC 83, the Canadian fighter has beaten Jon Fitch, BJ Penn, Dan Hardy and Thiago Alves.
Koscheck is coming off three-straight wins over Frank Trigg, Anthony Johnson and Paul Daley.
Both St-Pierre and Koscheck have extensive backgrounds in wrestling, with Koscheck a former NCAA Division 1 wrestler, and many pundits are predicting that grappling will be a big part of this bout.
Despite the odds and St-Pierre?s decided advantage, Koscheck has been engaging in plenty of trash talk leading up to the fight, and has said recently that he'll beat St-Pierre and "silence" the Montreal crowd.
