Once again, I have a homer play of the week.
This game is about respect for both teams. Georgia playing for its best start in the SEC in 21 years, and Alabama trying to prove they can bounce back from their disappointing loss to Auburn.
HOMER's Thoughts: Ezra Williams has been screaming all year that this team gets no respect. This week the national polls garnished some respect by placing them in both major polls. 20-AP and 23-coaches.
Keeping their head on straight will be Harrick's toughest job coming into this game. Georgia is coming off of their worst shooting (30%) and the largest rebounding deficit (-10) of the year. Rebounding was an area that the Dawgs were supposed to get killed on this entire year, but the team boasting no player over 6'8" is second in the SEC in Offensive rebound creating easy put-backs. Defensive rebound was their biggest weakspot against Tennessee giving up nearly 20 layups with 12 dunks.
Williams and Hayes will need to come out with a better feel for their shot tonight if the Dawgs want to keep their unscathed conference record in tact. The Tide bring in a balanced attack with three starters averaging over 12 ppg. This will be a new look for UGA. Alabama may be the speediest team the Dawgs face all year. With a short bench, Harrick will have to use his coaching skills wisely to keep his players rested.
Can Georgia cover the two points (line varies)? There are better games on the board as far as value, but there is some value to these dawgs bouncing back from their Tennessee performance and lighting up the scoreboard tonight.
Small play on the Dawgs. Surprised?!?
