Outright plays (1pt):

Paul Casey to win 18/1 e.w. @ SkyBet, Bet365, BetInternet, Sportingbet and Sporting Odds
A 3rd place finish in the BMW International Open two weeks ago was Casey's best finish for almost three months and it was a welcome return to the form that earned him his automatic Ryder Cup spot. The open fairways and low-scoring conditions at Gut Larchenhof should suit Casey's attacking style and it was only a final round 75 last year that denied him successive top-3 finishes in this event. Can't see him falling back so easily this year.

Colin Montgomerie to win 33/1 e.w. @ Sportingbet, Sporting Odd, Victor Chandler, UKBetting and Totalbet
"Cometh the hour" and all that, Monty has not been as impressive in a very long time as he was at the BMW International Open when his wildcard selection was on the line. He finally looked confident again over his putts and it bodes well for the Ryder Cup, but also for this event. He won the first staging of this event at Gut Larchenhof in 1998 and this really is a large price for someone who is much less likely to beat himself after his vote of confidence from Bernhard Langer.

David Lynn to win 66/1 e.w. @ Tote
Difficult to ignore a price like this on a player who has finished 6th, 1st and 6th in his last three starts. And they have hardly been against weak fields either. He has good form on this course with finishes of 6th, 14th and 37th and is certainly on a roll. Currently ranked 8th in scoring average on Tour, he is a big price when a few Ryder Cup players may coast this week if they get off to a slow start.

Matchup plays (1pt unless stated):

Niclas Fasth to beat Joachim Haeggman -110 @ Stan James
Fasth could be a surprise contender this week. He has finished in the top-10 in two of his last three starts in Europe and finished 3rd here last year. Having finished ahead of Haeggman in each of their last four common events and on both occasions they have both played in this event, he should have the better of this all-Swedish match.
(also available at Pinnacle)

Niclas Fasth to beat Jose Maria Olazabal -114 @ Expekt
Top-10 finishes are proving elusive for Olazabal and with a relatively poor record in this event - Fasth has finished ahead of him on all four occasions that Fasth has played in this event - he really should be no match for the Swede again.
(also available at Nordicbet)

Paul McGinley to beat Graeme McDowell -111 @ Paddy Power and Ladbrokes [3pts]
McDowell has shown some impressive form this year, but nothing compared to McGinley at the moment. McGinley has finished in the top-6 in four of his last six starts and has finished ahead of McDowell in each of their last six common events. Add in McGinley's course form - five top-20 finishes in six starts - against McDowell's - 66th and 64th - and this should be straightforward for McGinley.
(also available at SkyBet, Expekt and Five Dimes)

Eduardo Romero to beat Graeme McDowell -125 @ Sportingbet and Sporting Odds
In nine common events this year, McDowell has only finished ahead of Romero once and that was when he won the Italian Open in May, but Romero still finished 13th. With Romero having also finished ahead of McDowell on both occasions that the Ulsterman has played in this event, this should also be another match where a top-20 finish will probably not be enough for McDowell to avoid defeat.
(also available at Pinnacle)

Henrik Stenson to beat Charl Schwartzel -113 @ Pinnacle
In their last twelve common events, Schwartzel has managed to finish ahead of Stenson only twice and he finished nine shots behind him on his debut in this event last year. That makes these excellent odds for Stenson who has been playing particularly well over the last three months.

Outrights - FINAL RESULT: 0-3; -3.00pts

Casey 6th
Montgomerie mc
Lynn mc

The sort of event that makes you wonder why you do this! Had Gut Larchenhof been a 16-hole course, Casey would have won this event. He was 10-over-par for the last two holes and finished eight shots behind Harrington who was level-par on these holes for the week. There was even the consolation of a place win when Casey was 2nd with two holes to play, but a quadruple-bogey and single-bogey meant he dropped out of the places. Just can't control for finishes like that!
