I am going to keep riding this horse until it breaks down. I have been on this forum telling people to play ASU three weeks ago, before their game with Oregon St

10/26/2003 Wash. W 27-16 (-4)
10/19/2002 @Ore. W 45-42 (+10.5)
10/12/2002 Ore. St. W 13-9 (+2)

ASU (+7.5) at Washington State
Now we come into a Washington State team that is also 4-0 in the PAC 10. Has done everything asked of them, except the Ohio State game. That game they lost by 18, as Moe Clarett ran all over them. ASU is not a rushing team, and have not had much success running the ball. This game is basically for the Rose Bowl.
However, lets go deeper into the stats
Wazzu gave up almost 400 yards to Carson Palmer through the air, and Kyle Boller lit them up for 374 yards. Wazzu has played really only 2 quality opponents, Ohio State (Loss) and USC (overtime win). We know what Andrew Walter can do through the air. U Dub played cover 2 last game, thereby stopping the "big" play, but giving up all the underneath stuff. Andrew's stats didnt show much, but you take what you can get. The final score was a lot closer than the game was, they scored 2 4th quarter TD's in 5 minutes when the game was out of reach.

So, ASU is getting 7 and the hook. I think ASU has a 50/50 chance at winning this game outright, and I can get 7.5 points? Give me the points, and lets keep on this ASU roll. A play on the moneyline as well. If there is anyteam I know its ASU, and I bet with my head on them. This is not a "fan" bet. I didnt bet the Stanford game where they won by 40, or the Nebraska game when they got killed, or the Central Florida game. I know where to pick my spots. I think ASU has a legit chance to win this game in Pullman outright. (remember, Pullman only averages 35,000 the lowest in the PAC 10.) All input appriciated.

not so sure

not so sure

e wash,c fla,s d st,stanford,n carolina, oregon, oregon st,wash........all these teams have something in common....they are all poor defensive teams...also,all but san diego st and oregon were played at az st...wash st seems to have found a running game in green and that makes for a balanced offense vs an unbalanced offense on the road....not a shot at you or your play...i have followed your az st threads up to now....i think this is a very tough nut for az st...wash st`s win over the best team in the pac 10 was impressive...one thing in your favor is the pac10 dog trend......pac10 dogs are usually the way to go...g.l. to you,though...i have to lean toward wash st-7 today....i will take a harder look...g.l.

Marra is right in that either team could win this game. . . may sound crazy, but I think the ASU ML is the better value here because the 7.5 points may not even come into play as both offenses are so explosive.

If it was me, I'd make sure to check the weather in Washington first as it could effect ASU's passing attack. If the weather looks to be reasonable for Walter to connect on some of those bombs, then I'll probably be in :D

What makes you think Washington State's "D" is any good? Carson Palmer and Kyle Boller threw all over them. They are giving up 346.5 yards a game, which is only 3 yards less than ASU. They dont impress me much. As I said before they have played 2 quality opponents, USC and Ohio State, and won one in overtime.

I also forgot to mention that this will be the fearest pass-rush Jason Gesser will face so far, and don't think Terrell Suggs and Co. dont know that he has some rib problems. One big shot, hes gone. Just FYI Cody Pickett got sacked 8 times last week against ASU

And make no mistake, he is the KEY to their offense.

i will say this

i will say this

i love coach koetter....what he accomplished at boise st has not gotten the attention it deserves...i believe with him running the show,az st fans will have many years of excellent ,exciting football ahead of them...i actually am an old az st admirer from way back in the old frank kush- mike pagel days ....don`t kill the messenger ;) ....i just think wash st is the better club with a newly found ground game that may make it tougher for the az st pass rush to pin their ears back....can`t wait to see the over on this trackmeet.....again,g.l.

Dont mean to sound harsh garden:D

Dirk Koetter said in today's paper that ASU hasn't played their best game yet. The offense clicks, and then the defense clicks. It hasen't really all been there for any 1 game. If that happens this weekend, ASU will beat WSU. If not, I still think we have a big chance to pull the upset. I love getting at touchdown and the hook when I think a team can win outright. Given Gesser's injury problems, Wazzu's lack of competition thusfar, and Terrell Suggs, the 7.5 points looks like great value on ASU for the 4th week in a row...:thumb:

Sounds like it going to be quite cold and possible flurries. I love going against the warm weather teams when they venture into the cold; its not just a Tampa Bay thing.

Love ASU and will be on them. Koetter is something special. When he left Boise State, I gave him 2-3 years to turn around the ASU program. Looks like he is on track. Only thing that might temper my play is the weather. Believe weather will be in the mid 30's to low 40's and wondering how the warm weather team will react? BUT, on a light note, Gesser is from Hawaii. Ha!Ha! Maybe a standoff - then I'll take the points.

Very interesting news for the WSU/ASU game...

6) Washington State is having some illness problems as it prepares to host Arizona State this Saturday for sole possession of first place in the Pac-10. Head coach Mike Price reported that the flu bug has found its way into the locker room and at least a dozen players have been out of practice so far this week, including a couple players in the hospital. Price did not identify the ill players, but stated that the illness appeared to be of the 24-hour variety (Obviously its Mike Price M.D. in his spare time). Price expects a healthy team by the time Saturday rolls around, but the lack of practice time poses a legitimate concern.

Also, from ESPN

Ninth-ranked Washington State has suspended starting LB Ira Davis indefinitely for getting into a fight and breaking the cheekbone of starting CB Jason David on Tuesday, ESPN's Ken Fields reported.

The fight occurred inside the team locker room. David is expected to be out for 4-6 weeks with that fractured cheekbone. The status of whether David has been suspended is unknown.

In addition, Washington State kickoff specialist Adam Holiday has been suspended one week for violating "team rules."

Can only help against ASU:thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

- 16 wsu players currently are suffering from the flu and coach price wont name them

-cold weather is obviously not good for players playing with the flu nad will be an advantage for ASU not WSU. ASU QB Walter is from Colorado, so he is used to it.

- Moneyline +250 CH CHING CH CHING should be +140 around there
