I think Canelo's ass kicking has made too many morons think Canelo has a fighter's chance vs maybe the best fighter ever in GGG? I know GGG won Silver at the Olympics like 15 years ago as a kid, but he's never been knocked down, highest percentage of KO's ever for a middleweight, I see an ass beating myself as Chavez Jr was a joke! Thinking of dropping down like 3ish dimes to win 2 dimes now as this line is going up once the sharps get involved and they will as I think it's easy money, but could the line possibly go down with hispanics thinking this guy is now the bomb? Trying to figure whether to bet now or wait, but everyone I know says bet now!

I would wait until right up before the fight, maybe an hour before. I would expect a lot of public money to come in on Canelo, especially from his compatriots (think about the amount of Kazakhs vs Mexicans betting on this fight:142smilie). Then right before the fight, the smart money will come in on GGG because that will be the value side and he's the better fighter. While this is all speculation on my part, I expect the money to move like a big favorite in a boxing match: dog, dog, dog all the way up until the afternoon of the fight moving the money line down, then big money coming in on the favorite an hour or two before the bell. You could bet it now and lock in what is probably already a good number (I think -175/-180 is great value), but what is the long term value of tying up a portion of your bankroll for four months on a moderately heavy favorite? Not very high IMO. Wait, build you bankroll, and put more on GGG when the value on him peaks, because my guess is, the public will be on the dog.

D did you make a typo? GGG the best fighter ever???? Were you including all weight classes of all time? I'll give you three names that would have worked him just in the middleweight division from the past 20 years. Bernard Hopkins Roy Jones jr james toney. He wouldn't stand a chance against anyone of them. A slightly better then mediocre Jacobs put a boxing lesson on his a...

KOD - you can pick a better spot than this one to get back into it. Canelo boxes his ears off. GGG way overrated

Pound, very good post. Not gonna say I agree or disagree w/ u. One thing is obvious to me, tho:

* This fight should produce good 2-way action.

It's a fight people have wanted to see, for at least 2 years. People thought it wouldn't materialize b/c of the weight discrepancy.

We now have a legitimate fight. Would like people to address a few issues:

1) Canelo moving up in wt. How much of an issue?

2) What do u make of Canelo's early record? Beat a ton of Mexican cab-drivers.

3) How troubling is GGG fight vs Jacobs? You mentioned it. Is this a huge red-flag for GGG?

seems like GGG peaked and Canelo is ready to take him on

they used to spar, so Canelo won't be intimidated when he was being hosed and tossed around as a younger, more inexperienced fighter

going with canelo here to win a close decision, with the gingerhead man weathering GGG machine gun salvos in the last third of a good tactical fight

Moving up in weight I'd say is always a challenge for anybody. I don't know what Canelo walks around at.

I look mostly at the loss to Mayweather on Canelos record. Experience meter jumped up a couple notches after that fight. And overall I think he fought better opposition at his weight class. Cotto khan Kirkland..now Kirkland vs GGG would be entertaining :0074 but fact of the matter is the competition in all weight classes is horrible. There's just nobody out there anymore. Funny thing is if mcgregor wins he'd be carrying the torch for boxing and would probably be the only fighter I'd be excited to watch aside from maybe Luis Ortiz and my personal pound for pound #1 right now G Rig

It's big trouble. GGG has one style set your feet and come full steam ahead. That's the way he fights one dimensional. Not too hard to figure out
