Spurs AVG 103
Memphis AVG 93.4

Grizzlies beat the Spurs in 6 in the Playoffs in 2011.
After that loss SA started stocking the bench with veteran roll players and outside sharp shooters.

Memphis has no one to guard Green, Bonner or Leonard.

Before you jump on Memphis go review the Spurs lineup and their stats.

Before you jump on SA, go look at the 2 teams they just beat...

A D-League team and a paper thin Warriors team that was ravaged by injuries. Not too impressive. Now, believe me, I'm not a huge fan of "they only beat team x,y, and Z," because you can only beat who they put in front of you... but neither one of those series wins was even remotely impressive.

OKC was also flawed without Westbrook and 0 inside game to challenge gasol or zbo. Spurs have big men who can score. It should be a tough series and I think pop vs Lionel Hollands could be the difference

You have to listen to more than just the public. The public is fickle. If the Spurs win game 1, everyone will be crowning them. Then what?

And, i don't hear everyone on Grizz anyway. I'm seeing a ton of Spurs love all over twitter and in my office.

Pop, blah, blah, the old guys still have it, blah, blah.

They beat a DLEAGUE team and gimpy mediocre team. You want to crown their ass, crown their ass

Its no surprise people like Memphis.Excluding the first game vs Clippers, they have covered the number in every playoff game since!! 10 straight ATS!! Streaks like this, when they snap they go big.matter of fact,I've neverseen a streak like this in the playoff and iI'm 59 .will be interesting to see if they shit the bed in their first western conf finals or if they advance.

In the 2010-11 playoffs, the Mavs covered their first 11 games ATS, and went on to win the title.

I think something to consider is their first two round opponents were teams people loved to bet on (and rightfully so) - the Clippers and Thunder. Perhaps they were a bit undervalued because of that. The Spurs have been a great post-season bet as well (7-3 ATS).

Cheers

ESPN "EXPERT" PICKS: 9 Spurs, 5 Grizzlies

SPORTS ILLUSTRATED: 4 Spurs, 1 Grizzlies

And actually, sometimes "talking heads" do provide good information. You don't get to be a top-level announcer or analyst and know nothing about basketball. Some of them are actually really great. Simmons is very smart and knowledgeable.

Not to jinx myself I locked in SPURS -130 for the series.
Sometimes I hate posting it seems to bite me in the ass.
Let's see if Memphis has an answer in game 2. This will be 2-0 going back to Memphis.
