Last month in the basketball thread I made the mistake of asking Raymond what his record was and I caught the fury of hell. It was basically a innocent question, since I am rather new here I like to know how the posters are faring for the season and since he doesnt post a record I was curious, man oh man never will I ask again I was attacked for the next two hours, even though I never said one negative thing about his plays. I guess there are some people at this site that you cannot ask a question or you will be attacked. I read your post and I don't see one negative comment by you.

this was in the college basketball thread, right after Thanksgiving. Raymond had posted a game and put Outlaw next to it, I had no idea what Outlaw was, so Iasked him what his record was and then for some reason I was assulted. I was told that he doesnt have to post a record, that it was none of my business etc...when all I wanted to know was how he was doing in Basketball. I even explained that I suck picking Basketball plays and I like to follow hot handicappers to get my plays, boy was that the wrong move.

So why did people freak out when you asked for his record? I dont see what is so wrong with that. I actually like knowing people's record before I take their pick into consideration..........so what's the beef?

it shouldn't be a beef. usually it's because the record isn't worth a chit. not saying that's the case here but.....

when people have a good record, they post it.

Thats exactly my point I want to know how someone is doing before I place my faith in their plays, anyone can type in a game and post it as a play. I respect the guys on here that post their records, I have yet to see one dishonest post about their records, at least these guys give someone new a idea of how they are faring in the sport. I don't know why they freaked out when I asked Raynod for his record, it was like I asked for their last dollar, at least Teddy KGB stepped in and said all the guy asked for was how Raymond has done for the year.

Grid,
I aint the greatest at bestbettor. But if you pick on leaderboard and go to the sport you want it will show peoples rankings. If you click on pending you can see what plays they have.

"I will ask you again what is your record for this hoops season? Other than last night 0-3 have you been winning, I am not being critical I dont follow folks blindly and want to know how you have done so far." - Thegridiron

People ask for Ray's record all of the time and maybe he should post it and maybe he shouldn't , but the fact is he doesn't.

If you are going to coattail somebody's plays, they don't owe you a record. You can at least do some of the legwork to see if somebody has been hot or not.

I don't think anybody had a problem with you asking for his record, they had a problem with asking a question that Ray choose not to answer and sticking an 0-3 night in his face. Maybe that wasn't your intent, but that's what I got out of it.

I AGREE WITH MADJACK........SOME PEOPLE'S RECORDS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES AND OTHERS TRY TO HIDE THEIRS. ALL I KNOW IS GMONEY IS JROCK ON BESTBETTOR AND HAS BEEN LEADING THAT BOARD FOR ALMOST A YR AND HALF OR 2 YRS NOW.

HIS RECORD SPEAKS FOR ITSELF AND HE JUST LIKE I DON'T NEED PEOPLE TO DEFEND OUR RECORDS BECAUSE IT SPEAKS FOR ITSELF.....UNLIKE OTHERS WHO WON'T POST THEIRS OR WHOSE FOLLOWERS JUMP YOUR ASS JUST FOR ASKING A SIMPLE QUESTION.........NO SENSE IN THAT SHIT!!!!!!!!!!

U ON THE BOARD THOUGH OUGHT TO BE SMART ENOUGH BY NOW IF U HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING IT FOR AWILE AND KNOW WHO R THE GOOD CAPPERS . SOME OF THE BEST CAPPERS AROUND STILL DON'T GET OVER 2,000 VIEWS........DON'T ASK ME Y NOT.

FOLLOW THE RIGHT PEOPLE AND U WILL MAKE $$$$, FOLLOW THE WRONG PEOPLE AND U WILL LOSE YOUR A$$.

NUFF SAID.

WIZZ.

OK.

I have to say something about this, cause it pisses me off to no end as well.

This is an ONLINE FORUM.

NOTHING is owed to you, and the picks are FREE.

you wanna track someone, YOU track em.
FINE.

if they don't post their record: FINE.
if they do: more power to them.

I just think when you post a record it adds to your credibility as a capper on this site.

I use this forum to gather more info on here to help my capping skills in this hobby o' mine.

BUT i really think Thegridiron's question to RAY was innocent enough as people tend to be a bit anal when it comes to certain people's threads.

AND i think they took your post out of context when you said that he went 0-3 the nite before...they considered it a slam in the face even though you made an innocent comment. SOME PEOPLE ARE LIKE THAT.

This post is for all the newbies that come in here and read this thread. LURK, watch and make sure you don't bring up anyone's cold streak for the day or else you'll be bashed to no end.

This isn't a lesson to be learned, it JUST IS.

I completely agree, i usually look at the person's record and how they're doin for the week before i take into account their picks.

UNITS? don't matter, everyone has their own money management techniques.

if someone's 15 - 20 games over .500 i usually read it...show that they're better than average.

And if people don't wanna show their record, that's their business.

goodnite.

oh, BTW:

don't take into account my bestbettor record TOO much.

i know for a fact i use it to track to see how faves are doin when i punch in my bets.

if you look at games that people have picked for the day for example in NCAA hoops:

if they have placed bets on fawking 25 games on the board and they're all faves, are you gonna be jumping on all 25 of those games if the guys record is only .500?

is that really capping? or just betting faves?

WHY ASK WHY?:D

I have to agree with about 95% of what Toronto said. But I have to keep wondering why certain people keep getting asked their record when other people post on here all the time, some also with pay services, and they never get asked their record.

Personally, I took the phrase "Other than 0-3 last night" as a put down, and I do not blame Ray for answering back.

And when new guys with 11 post join the fray to bash someone... well you know what their intentions are.

There is a guy posting a record that is mostly playing favorites and laying a lot of wood. This guy is probably losing in the real world. But I do not feel it my duty to expose him. We are all on here to learn.Sometimes we have to get burned to learn. If that happens because you blindly follow someone who types "Boston big 5 *'s," then so be it.

You have to do your homework. Whether it be capping or following somebody. I try to put my picks on Bestbettor. I find that to be the best indicator of who is hot and who is not.

Just throwing my two cents worth in here.

The pay vs the free could be made alittle clearer. By that I mean those who run pay services and post free picks beside. It would be nice to have them in there own forum or posting area. Now there is no confusion. You know these folks have apay service thats point 1. Point 2, you know what they sold there clients should be there top plays for that day. I mean what else do there clients pay for. Point 3, the free picks are still Good Plays and they do play them. I do believe with the growth of this site and so many new folks that come in every month. A special spot for these service folks with a explanation what it's about would stop all this BS from starting in the first place. Then play the plays if you wish or just dont do it.
