I'm going to my first NHL game tonight as I am in vacation in Raleigh. I would like to bet on the home team since that will be who I am rooting for, but was wondering what the puck gurus thought of the game tonight. Does the total have more value? Do I want to bet the Hurricanes -.5 or just take the money line, or is Buffalo going to kick the crap out of them? Thanks for any help that you may give.

Note: Do either team have a history of fighting a lot?????

you'll have a blast.........enjoy it :)

try to get there early and watch em warm up.......ya know take in the whole experiance.

as for the bet........go with Carolina on the Moneyline......Buff just beat em last week.......and I think revenge is in order......not a strong play but if I had a gun to my head I'd take Carolina on the Moneyline.

have fun :)

In the month of December, each team has played 11 games thus far. In those 11, Car has scored 15 goals = 1.36 per game, while Buff has scored 22 = 2.00 goals a game. Sounds like a low scoring fest coming up. Take the under. I'll play Buff +.5 because I'm a homey and I like the way they have played the last 3 games. :D

Thanks everyone. Real excited about the game. I went ahead and bet Carolina money line and also parlayed Carolina moneyline and the under. I hope it comes through. Either way, I believe a hockey fan will be born tonight.

Welcome to trap night in the USA. Under is a good bet because these two teams play a boring style and do not take any chances offensively. Carolina -1/2 and under.:D

I personally wish they would get rid of this trap crap because it does make a boring game but it's OK when you win on the under.:D Hope you had fun!

Had a killer time at the game. Club level seats, and it was fun. Carolina sure did barely hang on. But had the money line win and also hit the parlay $$$$. Thanks fellas. I appreciate you helping a newbie out. One thing I don't understand is the game was fun, a lot of fan interaction, but the place was only about half full... If I lived here I would go all the time.......

Thanks y'all.

Balls Deep
Grama-

This area has too much college sports to compete with NHL. It's soon to be the meat of the ACC bball schedule. I agree with you, the rink is nice and all the seats are good. I also think the Canes horrid offensive production is another big factor. Most people don't know squat about hockey here, so it's harder to draw fans to low scoring, hard fought games when most newbies would rather watch 5-4 games.
