On the course!
I was running a couple errands today, and got to thinking about something that bothered me. Every time I leave the house, the chances of me getting sick are greater than the last time out. A couple weeks ago, the odds of running into someone who could infect you were slim. Every day that goes by though, the chances become greater that I will contract this shit by going out.

I stay home as much as I can, but there are times we all need to get things.

The biggest thing I wonder is, would it be better to get this shit, and get it over with, or just hope I can stay "lucky" forever?

Agreed. I am heading to the golf course now, we are very fortunate to still get to do that, single person per cart, disinfect it in front of you, clorox wipes to take out with you, no bunker rakes, pin stays in, etc. But the store is a different matter.

Yeah, they finally ordered the stay the fuck at home order for the state of Florida. Played my last round of golf yesterday for at least 30 days.......I feel the same about the store visits, I am the sacrificial lamb in our family. It's always me, not the wife that shops. There are a lot less people in the stores as there were about two weeks ago. That's my only solace in doing the shopping........

A lot of variables to this. Current projections are that we're about 2 weeks away from the peak (though that's going to vary by location). If you got it today, and it progressed to be serious enough that you needed hospitalization, you would almost certainly still be in the hospital for at least some point of the peak. So you may have already missed your window to "get it early".

The other big variable that's not being discussed as much is the risk of reinfection. This seems to change by the day. At first they said that there's really no risk of being reinfected once you get it, then they said the risk of reinfection was a lot higher than previously thought. Now the latest says that it seems like most people will be immune to reinfection, but some won't. Translation: no one really knows so anything is possible. Obviously, if reinfection risk is high - then there is absolutely no advantage to getting it early.

I don't think you need to "stay lucky forever" - but if you can stay lucky for 6 months I think there will be a lot of progress in treatment options, and then hopefully a vaccine ~6 months after that.

Wear a mask when u go out.

Wear gloves when u go out.

Wipe everything down u purchase with alcohol/bleach wipes.

Hell, use postmates and don?t go out at all! Use Walmart delivery; it?s only $12 a month and worth it not to have to get in that mess.

Order everything else with amazon prime. If u don?t have amazon prime, purchase it. It pays for itself in time and convenience in 2 weeks imho. It?s the best bang for your buck possible. Nothing else compares.

Agree with you on the masks...US Surgeon General said on LIVE TV this morning that healthy individuals do Not need to wear masks in public. Tell that to South Korea and Vietnam. Look at their numbers.

S Korea, Vietnam citizens probably aren't as selfish as Americans, either. For many of us, this is still just a television drama. Until it's literally in their houses, they will keep fucking off.

Don't wear a mask unless you need it, save them for people around the world that really need them, like health care workers for example.

https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/201...coronavirus/2019-ncov/prepare/prevention.html

"The CDC does not recommend healthy individuals to wear masks. The best way to prevent the spread of COVID-19 is by washing your hands, covering your cough or sneeze, and staying home if you are ill."

Wear a facemask if you are sick:

"If you are sick: You should wear a facemask when you are around other people (e.g., sharing a room or vehicle) and before you enter a healthcare provider?s office. If you are not able to wear a facemask (for example, because it causes trouble breathing), then you should do your best to cover your coughs and sneezes, and people who are caring for you should wear a facemask if they enter your room. Learn what to do if you are sick."

If you are NOT sick:

"You do not need to wear a facemask unless you are caring for someone who is sick (and they are not able to wear a facemask). Facemasks may be in short supply and they should be saved for caregivers."

Speaking of "going to the store"........not sure this is happening in USA (or anywhere else for that matter), but some locations in Canada won't accept cash. Store owners and their workers want to limit contact with customers so they don't want to touch your cash. So if you head out the door and only have cash on you, you might be shit out of luck.

wearing mask also helps to avoid getting flu or other regular decease that weakens you up for cv...

when you get cv, everything you have already adds up in a bad way

And if you wear a hockey goalie mask, people will stay away from you because they think you hack up College Coeds with a machete. Good way to ensure social distancing.

true that, but i prefer "outbreak"-movie kind hazard suit outfit (functional real one). chernbobyl one will do too.

btw carrying machete draws too much attention (at least for now, don't know a few months later from now).
and at some point it gets bloody anyway so there is that too. you know, risk of droplet infection.

True, but if you carry some "wet wipes" and give it a good wipe down you can usually keep the machete germ free.

Due to my job, I will be surprised if I don't get it. Not too worried about me, just my elderly mother in-law who lives with us, with multiple underlying conditions.

So how is this working out for us? Look at the fucking numbers. By now there are thousands of Americans walking around asymptomatic and are seemingly healthy. Don't wait for a test for confirmation. Assume you have it and do the right thing.

Here? Third World conditions.

 You can always move to Africa....... It's got to be better than the USA on every level. They have world class leadership, and I bet you will love it there:0074
The store may be a 5 mile walk, but it's much better than what we experience here, I can send you a pair of shoes, you will need it!

Here's the thing. I expect Africa to have serious issues. They simply dont have the playing field we have. We have a great field, with sub-par "athletes".

If other countries have doctors and nurses wearing these space suits, and they are staying safe, why is our staff in paper gowns and week old masks, and dropping like flies? Which one sounds like it's in the dark ages?

This country had better step up to the plate again, and pretty fucking soon. We cant keep writing checks on an account from 80 years ago. We cant keep singing "Glory Days", waving the flag like it's a magic wand, and shouting, "USA!...USA!...USA!", in our t-shirts that are two sizes too small.

So, while we whistle past the graveyard, the rest of the World takes notice. Even Africa.

This is the greatest country on this planet, and there is not a close 2nd.....If you are willing to pay 65% taxes, then you should move out to experience the doctors being as safe as they are claimed to be?.....
I get tired of the ave spoiled Joe's that do not have or ever had an answer to our worlds problems. Bitch, bitch and bitch some more. If it's that bad here, LEAVE!!!! Pretty simple, We are in dark ages alright...... And the negativity makes it even darker. All the bitching in the world will not bring one dead person back to life.

Hell go to Quebec, a short drive north.....58.75% TAXES :0003:0003:0003:0003:0003
