Going to Vegas this weekend, Need Advice

First time in Vegas as an adult. The last time I went, I was more interested in the arcades than the showgirls. :mj07:

Can any regulars recommend good places to stay near or on the Strip?

Also, are there any fun and cheap things to do there besides gambling?

Which casino is best for sports wagers?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm a newbie.

If this is your first time going stay on the strip.

Depends on your budget, If you are going before Christmas you can get some of the top names hotels Wynn, Bellagio, etc for under 2 Bens per night.

If you don't care where you stay then pick one of the less popular hotel, New York New York, Excalibur etc, and you can get a pretty good deal. If you call the hotel direct you will get a better deal than Travelocity etc.

As time goes on you will see the boring side of the strip and stay in Hard Rock or Palms off the strip where the locals and the hotties hang out.
