Hello Madjack Posters!

I'm heading up to Las Vegas this weekend. I'm leaving on Friday and coming back on Monday.

My question: What is my best bet for this weekend?

Feel free to post on this thread with your advice. I'll be reading it nightly and will let you know what my plan is on Thursday night. Then, I'll send a recap on Monday night to let everyone know how it went.

C'mon fellow Madjackers, let me hear you loud and strong here.

Thanks in advance for the help in my journey to Sin City this weekend.

MonkeyPants :)

Here is a little betting system that works for me. well i've used it twice and its worked like a charm, came up both time. u look for roullete tables and see which 1 has a whole bunch of reds in a row or blacks in a row (either one doesnt matter) if its like 5 or 6 in a row u to go to that table and bet black or red accordingly $10 if u lose u bet $30 if u lose that u bet $90. trust me dude i made $350 the first time and bet a little bit more the next time and came up +$800. but the thing is it could be very time consuming, cause once the other colour comes and u win u gotta get up and walk away and wait till another table has a whole bunch of the same colours in a row. well its worked for me and i don't see y if u don't stick to the plan y u wouldn't get the same result. goodluck man and let me know if it worked out for ya. :) have fun bro

LMM:

I'm a little unclear on the roulette advice.

Say I find one that has had 5 reds come up in a row.

I bet $10 (on red) and keep going until I lose.

Then, I bet $30 (on red) and keep going until I lose.

Then, I bet $90 (on red) and keep going until I lose.

Does that sound like the same think you were explaining in this system?

WIZARD:

In playing the 6 and 8 on the crap tables...

Do I play them after the shooter has established the point, or prior to the first roll?

Thanks for the advice so far!

Also, if anyone has any sports book advice for Friday night's games, Saturday's action, Sunday's contests, or future wagers....let me know.

Thanks!

no MP sorry i should have been more clear. ok if there is already 5 reds in a row when u get to the table u bet $10 on black, if it comes red instead of black then u bet $30 on balck again, if u lose and red comes again u bet $90 on balck again ( u get the idea) but the chances are very high that a balck is gonna come up on the 6th,7th, or 8th time. well atleast it worked out for me in 2 trips there. gl bro :)

why are the chances any better? the table doesn't know any better that it has landed on red or black 5 6 7 times in a row...if it has been black for say 10 times in a row the chances are just the same for it being black again as it is to be red------
all depends on how the ball bounces

LMM: Thanks for clearing that up.

I am aware of the theory of independent random events and the table doesn't know how many times red or black has come up. However, I am interested in the money management side of this. The only way you can lose is to drop 3 in a row. I agree that it can, and does happen, but short term this may be a good strategy. I'll work up some numbers on the probabilities later this week.

One logistical question, though....I believe you get colored chips in roulette. Once you win (and walk away) do you have to cash your chips back in immediately or can you walk around with the colored chips and play them later on at the table?

I'm also looking for some sports book plays for the weekend. I have 4 slots open.

1. Friday's games
2. Saturday's games
3. Sunday's games
4. Future wagers

I'm pleased this thread is getting a lot of hits, but I'm still looking for some winners!

I have a couple more nights until I leave for my trip. Thanks again madjackers!

THERE IS NO SYSTEM FOR ROULETTE!

it's mathematically impossible. if you win, it's cuz you were lucky - nothing more, nothing less. chasing, doubling, playing the contrarian theory - it's all the same risk no matter how you slice it. colors and numbers are never "due". the 2 green spots give the house a huge advantage and there's no way around that. play it for fun or to entertain a chick, but don't ever count on it.

Regarding games and futures - hell, you can probably find better odds with the offshores.

Regarding gambling - there really is no advantage to Las Vegas. You can find better odds online, and there's certainly no point playing casino games except for entertainment. Honestly, that's all their good for - if you lose money but have fun - your a winner!

S-Murph: I agree with you that there is no mathematical skill or advantage in the long run to playing roulette.

As a matter of fact, I have worked up some numbers (I have a mathematics degree from Northern Arizona U. '91) and using the method of playing $10 on the first spin, $30 on the second, and $90 on the third, I have come up with some probabilities. Note, this system has you quit after a win or after 3 consecutive losing spins.

1-0 (Win on first spin): +$10 47%
1-1 (Lose, then win on 2nd spin): +$20 25%
1-2 (Lose two, then win on 3rd spin): +$50 13%
0-3 (Lose all 3 spins): -$130 15%

Clearly, over the long haul this is not a good system. The odds suggest that if you played this for 100 spins, you would lose $330.

However, if played short term, it could result in some success. 85% of the time you would leave the table a winner.

Only 24 hours left until I make my final board check.

LAST CALL!!!

I have to say I am disappointed so far not to have seen any sports wagers in this post. There have been over 200 reads to the thread and not a single sports pick.

I can't really compare it to offshore wagering because I am going for work reasons (company bash) and the trip is to Las Vegas, not an offshore website.

Once again, here are the 4 spots I am looking for picks in:

1. Friday games

2. Saturday games

3. Sunday games

4. Future wagers

Last plea!

Any help you can give would be appreciated.

Thanks!

one of my buddies bragged to me about that system. he would win like 100-200 in a short time just starting out with 5 dollar bets and doubling up. well the last time he was in a.c. he lost about 1,100 doing this with him losing about 550 the last spin. every spin of the wheel is 18/38. he just thought he was "due" for a black spin to come up. funny thing is that he's an accounting/finance guy. he should realize every spin is random. if im gonna drop a grand it better be on some 5-10 nl table in the borgata not stupid roulette.

Well, first I'd like to thank everyone for their sports wagers for this weekend along with future wagers....but NO ONE GAVE ME ANY!!!

I guess I'm on my own.

I do like the Craps strategy mentioned by Wizard earlier in this thread where I do place bets on 6 and 8. Very small house edge (1.5%).

I plan to mix some Craps and Blackjack betting with a little bit of LMM's Roulette play.

Sportswise, I'm taking the Mariners over Tampa on Friday night. Haven't decided what I'm playing yet for Saturday, Sunday, or futures.

I'm heading up the freeway in the morning for Vegas!

I'll give a recap on Monday night when I'm back.

one of the top 3 bets of any casino game

BET THE BANKER IN BACCARAT

ya don't need to know how to play....just bet the banker.......the odds are fantastic...see below:

Probabilities in 8-deck Baccarat

Banker = 45.86%
house edge 1.06%

Player = 44.62%
house edge 1.24%

Tie = 9.52%
house edge 14.36%

The problem is most people don't know how to play the game....don't worry about it...the only one that needs to know the rules is the dealer....just know this...NEVER BET THE TIE....the odds are horrific. And when ya bet the banker remember ya have to put up 5%. Meaning if ya bet 100 bucks ya gotta put in 5 dollars commission (note some casinos will let ya bet 100 and then if ya win give ya back 95)

and remember the odds of you WINNING with the banker bet are 45.86 % if it does tie you don't win.....but YA DON'T LOSE either :)

Have fun :)
