Here are my leanings at the moment picks for each Category in bold:

If a category has two picks then I believe it is either/or situation as to which one will win while if a category has no pick then I do belive there is a clear pick.

I think Nicolson is a fairly solid bet for best actor. He gave an awesome and (unusual for him) restrained performance. Plus, the Hollywood foreign press loves him.

I think Julianne Moore has actress locked up for Far from Heaven.

I would take a chance on Curb your Enthusiasm for best TV comedy at 6-1.

Me bad.....I DO have some opinions, but when I started to reply to the thread, I couldn't find where I had written down my thoughts, so I put up the smiley face thinking I'd find it and come right back to the thread.......

You see how well that worked out. Being self-employed and trying to use one computer and computer desk for work and play is NOT, I repeat, NOT a smart idea......

To the business at hand........

I like The Pianist as a long shot for best picture. Have not seen Lord of the Rings....not my cup of tea.....nor have I seen About Schmidt....am planning on going this weekend......and while I liked Gangs a great deal, Adrien Brody in The Pianist blew me away..... A great, great film, IMHO..... leading to Brody as my choice for best actor as well....no opinion on the musicals, again not my bag.....Salma Hayek is my choice for best actress in a drama-- not because of her acting job in the film, but because of her BODY in the movie......;) yeah, I'm a pig.....shoot me...LOL
HATED, and I mean, HATED Punch Drunk Love.......I must not be sophisticated enough to "grasp" the meaning behind that one.......just another terrible film that the critics all loved so that they can feel intellectually superior to us "unwashed masses" that didn't get it........"Magnolia" comes to mind as an example of what I'm talking about....... Have heard great things about Igby Goes Down, but haven't seen it yet out here in the boondocks where I live.......Give me Six Feet Under for best TV drama......nothing on the idiot box comes close to the quality of Six Feet Under, especially since Sopranos sucked so much this last season........read a critics take on this season while on the East Coast for X-mas....... he thought it was a brilliant season for the show, and I'm not sure what he saw, but it wasn't what I saw.....Give me the Simpsons for best TV comedy, but thats only because I have never seen a whole espisode of the others in the category.........

Hows that? Any thoughts on what I've mentioned here? Anyone.....anyone......Bueler......Bueler........
