You know Stan This has been a most unusual year on match betting. I was going over past years stats and it was not uncommon for the word "sweep' to come up on several occasions in forum thru course of year.50% has been standard mode this year. I can not figure the difference other than most matches are standard throughout the books where before there were many more different matchups to choose from.Do you have any opinons?

If I could explain it, I could start to avoid it

But I do think you're right about the lack of home-grown matchups, starting from last year. First Moneyplays and then Five Dimes moved to just covering the Don Best matchups and they used to be my primary outs for golf matchups :nooo:

And then Camelot went bust

I have found myself playing far more matchups at Euro books than I used to and these have much higher vig and ties that lose

But this is part of a trend for me. Just looked back at my matchups record and found the following:

1999: +22 units (July onwards and PGA Tour only, hit 61%)
2000: +168 units (56%)
2001: +54 units (54%)
2002: negative (just over 50%)

Just as well the outrights are so profitable or this would not be worth the effort ;)

Just though of another trend ... starting the threads :p

Used to start them in 1999/2000 ... Ian started them in 2001 and the start of 2002 ... I started them a couple a months ago and started hitting outrights winners ... didn't start them last week and got killed ... looks like I'd better fade my picks this week ;)
