I know this is for shits and giggles but can someone enlighten me on the scoring?
Both Kaymer and Stroud finish in top 5. My book shows me with a 26 unit profit.
How does it get scored here?
Stanley thanks for the hard work. I know it's not easy.

Let's Have Fun:

Stan has you at 1-1, but you were actually 2-0, and Stan will get your results corrected.

Stan uses a uniform scale to grade all posted plays, regardless of your actual stakes. Whenever you place a wager on a golfer to Win and to Place, it will always be calculated as an each way (e.w.) wager, with 1/2 unit on the Win portion, and 1/2 unit on the Place portion. So if you were 1-1 from Stroud being 2nd, you would win 25 x 1/2 unit = 12.5 units, and receive your 1/2 unit stake back on the winner, while losing 1.5 units on the other wagers, for a profit of 11.0 units, as Stan had it calculated . . . When Stan corrects your results to 2-0 for your winning wager on Kaymer (using the "dead heat" rules for a 3 way tie for fourth), your result will be very close to, or exactly equal to, 13.0 units, which is 1/2 the 26 units you profited in your account.

********************

By the way Stan, I believe you were too generous in scoring my results, as J.J. Henry finished tied for 5th, and I have my result at +1.00 units, rather than +9.88 units.

Thank you, Stan. I hope I helped. Cheers! :toast:

Thanks LIA, you are correct :)

Here the explanation that I normally post at the start of each season:

Grading re: Forum Recap

To attain consistency across posters' staking strategies, all outright plays will be assumed to be win-only unless specified otherwise and be graded on the basis of a 1 unit stake (so an each-way bet is 0.5 units to win & 0.5 units to place). All matchup plays will be graded to be 1 unit to win if odds-on (e.g. stake 1.25 units if odds are -125) or 1 unit staked if evens and above. For the sake of simplicity, all ties in matchup plays are graded as a push, unless otherwise specified, so please specify if the ties loses in your posted matchup play.

And yes, I had overlooked Henry's tie for 5th place so it reduce the payoff, now amended above.

In terms of Let's Have Fun's Kaymer pick, I had graded it a loss as my leaderboard for the European Tour was still showing rd3 :( I've now amended the above in light of the 4th place finish (and three-way tie for 4th place).
