Yep, good job Stan!

Took a real pasting myself, dropping almost four figures on golf this week...

Still, there's always next week! Well, actually, might call it a day for the year and spend the next month getting files in order ready to start all over again.

We'll see!

Cheers :)

The above stats may be a little misleading though as each play is weighted as 1 unit ...

In my actual plays, I had 6-0 sweeps in both the Japan and Davidoff/European Tour events where my basic plays were 1 unit and went 2-9 in the LPGA and ANZ Tour events were my basic plays were 1.5 units! I actually made a small loss on this week's matchups

Interesting to see that despite your wealth of knowledge, database, huge array of books, and even your helpful colleagues on here, it is still extremely difficult to turn a profit on match bets.

I've given up on them now and concentrate solely on outrights...much longer losing runs (esp this week!!) but far more profitable in the long term.

The main worry for me at the moment is the large number of smaller firms who bet regularly on minor tours have now disappeared...ok, the big ones are now pricing, but what a surprise to see Hills and Ladbrokes go three places for ADT Championship...bet they don't try that for Mercedes in January.

 Have to tell one on myself. Will either have to research payoffs on Euro odds more closely or change my name.Thought I'd give Bookmakers a go this week thinking odds on Sorenstam were quite generous in running and while they have not settled, intially I thought I'd get 50% return on place portion @ 110 but after looking into it I believe I risked $50 to win $5.:D
Got to be biggest chalk wager of all time.
They got to think I'm an idiot. Did catch a small one on Baddeley but had losers on Levin and Pampling.

But I do miss your very profitable 'match bet of the week' :(

I do think that matchup bets can be profitable - I have basically been getting killed on PGA Tour, steady elsewhere and hitting 60% on the European Tour - but certainly on the profit/effort front, they are much more difficult to justify relative to either outright bets or spending the time on other things altogether!

The biggest problem with matchup betting has been the increased move towards cloning of lines, particularly with the disappearance of Camelot, the unattractiveness of lines with the Euro books given their higher juice and the ties lose option (lost one via that route this week).

I think I'll start looking at 18-hole matchups again next year - just the lines at Five Dimes, Moneyplays or GameDay where the tie is a push - as there is virtually no cloning of these lines and I think they can be profitable with the resources you mention above. Only time will tell if it is justiable on the profit/effort front ;)

It was  but I had to tell it.:D

You might want to look at Cascade on 18 holes Stan. They stick to 20 cent lines through out and $plays cloned their matches last 5 weeks of season. However $plays does throw in some clinkers despite heavy juice.
