Just curious if anyone knows of a website that provides stats on players past performance on a course/ tourney. Used to use golf observer.com but they are now charging fee

In terms of free sites, I do not know of any. There are past leaderboards available on the yahoo and espn sites for a manual search.

If you're signed up for Yahoo Fantasy Golf, you can check players past performances in an upcoming tournament as well as season performance. It's not nearly as good as Golf observer, but it does provide some useful, and free, info.
You won't find a site remotely close to data provided on Stanley's site http://www.tour-tips.com/
If you have any doubts - check in free period start of each year and kick the tires.
Costs about $2 a week--best bang for buck you'll find.
