Getting my ducks in a row for 2002 season and gonna add a few and delete a few. Here have been my takes on ones I used in 2001.Would be curious what the crews thoughts were on their outs pro and con.

$plays Sad to see my luckiest book go downhill.Last part of season went to new format with minimal matchups. Will occasionally throw in clinker line so will keep basically hoping it reverts back to old self.Must make note that payouts have been slow and last 2 withdrawels have been actually paid by sister site Goto.

5Dimes Use to be king of hill but not so anymore as they still use 30 cent lines but do line Beards and Bush and still consider them top 3 in matches.

Oly Only book offering full odds on place only wagers in town.Find occassional good match after cut,do not even look at their prior cut matches with late postings and 30 cent lines.

WSEX Picked up the pace quite a bit at end of year even offering totals on a couple of events.

Camelot and Cascade New boys on the block and surpassing 5dimes in matchups with good array of matches at 20 cent lines.
If we could get them to venture into Senior and LPGA matchups it would be great.

Pinnacle Give them an A for 16 cent lines but a D for not putting them up till all value has been beat to death.

Betworld Joined for place only but found their lines are subpar and ties divvy.Don't think I played one outright there.

Sportingbet UK Will stay for outrights since they went to 5 places.Their 3balls have went WAY downhill lining few and only those of competative nature for most part.

Surrey My achilles heel last year. Have reloaded for another shot in 2002.

Also have added 2 new UK books to stable.
Bet365 and BetandWin.Will use primarily to coat tail my Euro Commrades on other tour outrights.

Would give my customer service award to Camelot.Payouts received within hours of request.Emails always answered timely, updates received by email on WD's.
Sportingbet would get honorable mention for their friendy and efficient phone personel.

Worst(slowest and inconclusive)software goes to Surry.

DOGS,
You are correct about $plays and GOTO. They both went to chit when they changed s/w. No unique matchups anymore and the s/w sucks, IMO.

U may want to look at sportsinteraction for PLACE BETS. They offer many tours and let you parlay them and u do get 1/4 odds for 4 places. Some players have excellent value there compared to other outs, others not so much. They also are great for dogs in fb and hoops, which should be up your alley. I have been with them for > 3 yrs w/o a problem. Their matchups aren't the best ( sometimes use idiotic 3way and jack the juice up and down ) but they are good for multiple sports.

betinternet also had 5 pay e/w and some decent props, used them a little at the end of the season.

caribsports has 20 cent lines and has become consistent with offering 18 holers.

DTB,
Not tried most of the US sportsbooks you use, only have an account with Grand Central
via the weekly competition. Will have to check more of them out next season, particularly the place only terms you often quote...

Here's my recent findings....
www.surreysports.co.uk
The website was horribly slow but has improved the last fortnight since
moving from .com to .co.uk Golf place terms 1/4 lst 5

www.heathorns.co.uk
Now offer online betting amd place terms 1/4 lst 5
Though after a good start last month have not offered many golf prices lately

www.bet365.com
Very fast site that updates prices quickly, place terms 1/4 lst 5

www.victorchandler.com
Slow site but place terms 1/4 lst 5

www.sportingodds.com
Place terms 1/4 lst 5 but do not price up every event.

www.betsmart.co.uk
Previously had dismal place terms but greatly improved since I have had some dialogue with them. Now 1/4 lst 5.
One Saturday after I moaned at them they apologised, changed 1/5 lst 3 to 1/4 lst 4 and promised to settle bets already taken at the new better terms!

www.bet247.co.uk
Don't price up early but 1/4 lst 5 when they do - but in-running place terms poor

www.stanjames.com TARGET=_blank>www.stanjames.com[/URL]</A>
No online betting but useful as a guide as they price up fairly early (used to be very early). They open 247 so price up in-running quicker than most.
Place terms are only 1/4 4 or 1/5 5 but they accept place only.

www.sunderlands.co.uk
No online betting but place terms 1/4 lst 5

www2.eurobet.co.uk
Pathetically slow site, OK if you have an hour to kill while waiting to see if
the bet was struck or not....

www.netbetsports.com
Place terms 1/5 lst 6 for singles only

I must admit I don't understand a lot of the US terminology... for example what are "30 cent lines"

Buck: My buddy Clint (Six Five) also raves about SIA and the dog lines. Will look into them.
Bettingmad: 30cent lines would equate to both players being -115 in a pickem,20cent lines -110 each.I am familiar with Sportingbets fractions which usually equate to 34cent lines in pickem not involving tie option. Those familiar with both US and Euro can explain it better than that but till they junp in thats the best I can do.

bettingmad,
As DOGS said it is the difference between the two sides ( like a pickem game being -115 each side ). Vegas-style/US books express lines as -110 vs 1.91 vs 10/11 as other countries do. So 30 cent lines roughly equate to 1.87 or 10/11.5 on each side if the game/match/matchup is rated an even match by the linesmaker. +100/-130 is also 30 cents. It is the difference between the Vegas-type money line quotes. The Vegas/US market is dominated by NFL betting which is traditional spread based ( points added or subtracted ) and thus customarily 20 cent (10/11 or 1.91) and anything worse than that is excessive juice IMO. Some NFL outs offer 10 cent or 16 cent lines ( Pinnacle does this for golf and Cascade was offering 15 cents for a while ). Canbet offers 14 cent for football and hoops. Baseball is traditionally 10 cents. The less juice/vig/cents the better it is for bettors/punters.

Can you guys help me by stating which of these outs offer PLACE without having to bet the WIN as well ( in other words you don't have to bet each way ). I think the PLACE bet is far more viable/profitable in the long run. Do any of these T5 or T6 paying place outs let you bet it alone???? OLY and SIA are the only ones I currently use that allow this, Island used to. I may do it more if I can JUST bet the PLACE. Rode Estes down the stretch at OLY and hit Thongchai Jaidee at 11-1 this week, but I'd probably have gotten better odds and more places to spare at another out.

TIA

Thanks for the '30 cents' explanation guys.
I understand - just a case of 30 cents being more 'over-round' than 20 cents, i.e. a higher percentage book.

I would also be interested in which bookies offer the place only option. I know Stan James do.. perhaps more might next season.
