Good days versus Bad days, are you a champion??? We all know it is easy to handicap games when things are going great and nothing can go wrong. These are the days where our egos get swolled along with our bankrolls. But, what happens when you put a 40 hour week in'; only to see all your "locks" result in Losers(i do not even like writing the word). What do you do? Are you a true competitor, a true champion? How do you bouce back???
On Saturday, this happened to me. Does this mean we our bad Cappers?? I know I do not feel that way. Honestly, it does not bother me one bit. I have been doing this since i was 12, and i have seen and heard everthing. I have been on the both sides of the last second score to make and break me. I have had a team blow 30 pt leads and i have had teams come back from 30.We all have the same stories, how does one handle this?? Laugh, cause i know it will happen from timeto time!!Do not consume and depress yourself over it,Be a champion, bounce back!!! All this is part of the game and if we can't accept it? We will never make any money!!Yes i did go 0-5 on Saturday, and honest to goodness fellas--it did not change my playbook, attitude, confidence, theory's,or the way i approach games when i cap them. It did make me work harder!!! And i challenge everyone that reads this to do the same if your unfortunate to experience a day like this. I believe i have an ability to cap games, and my confidence is as high as it was before Saturday!!! I caught some heat for Saturday's fiasco(especially from my main critic--freeze), but i welcome that criticism,it motivates me. Freeze--I'm not running--i'll be here. I am not some "tout" service, nor have i been under a different screen name, and i do not flip coins for picks!!! THe work is put in.....So everyone look in the mirror, are you a Champion, will you stick to your playbook. Will you leave the card table stuck 2'G's after all the fish get cleared out and the only people left at the table are so tight you couldn't stick a toothpic up their !ss... Do you chase the money?? If the answer is yes, get out of this buisness my friend!!!
Rule#1---Do not chase money!!
Rule#2---Cap my own games
Rule#3--Don't play a team, just because Stu Feiner said so!!!
Rule#4---Remain Patient--Discpined--Make solid play's only!!!
Rule#5--Hit every possible angle!
Rule#6--Perhaps the most important one--manage your money!!!!
In closing, i just want to say this is a great web-site and the info. provided is very helpful...And again, i challenge you all to work hard and make smart--thought out decisions. I will be working hard to get that 66%, Got a little catching up to do but it will get done!!!!Until then "time is money"

Your goal of 66% is admirable, but laughable.

If you hit 52.5%, you break even. If you hit 55% with a decent volume of games, you will win some decent coin.

60%, and you are in for some major league cash. Nolan, I believe, hit 60% here last year on his NFL and was widely, deservedly so, lauded.

If you make 10 plays a week in the NFL, that equals 170 plays. If you hit 60% of those, you go 102 and 68. At $100 per play, you make $2,720, or a return of 14.5% on the $18,700 you risked.

That is fantastic, and not seen THAT often.

66% is ridiculous without having any sort of track record on which to evaluate you.

Good luck, but please spare me the hype.

Innavation, great write up and points. I have experienced the same and feel the same about it as you do. I approach handicapping in a very simplistic manner. EVERYONE (bettor) is going to lose some games, no matter WHAT it is that made you bet on that team or that total in the first place. That being said, I just use the normal info and go with it. Stats, recent play, home field, weather, history of games between the teams (to a lesser degree because history is usually just that), etc. all factor in. Bottom line is I just have to stick to my principles, just like you said. I don't always do that. This weekend was a good example. LSU looked great against a horrid Miss State team, but I did not play that game. Despite 0, 14 and 9 points scored by Miss St in their last 3 prior to the LSU contest, I was "scared" because they were at home and I thought they were "due." Well, that was STUPID and it cost me a chance to win some $$$$ Period! Anyway, anybody/team/total can win, same can lose. But do your homework, do not be scared (IE be willing to go over high college totals if you think there will be a decent amount of points scored -- check out all the high-scoring games every single Saturday) and be willing to stick it out, understanding that you are going to get some tough breaks along the way. As long as I use the percentages, do my own homework, and make my own plays based on who I think will cover and who I don't think will cover, I'm OK with whatever the end results end up being. None of these picks are personal guarentees nor will you win just because you think you have a "great chance to do so" but I'm FAR BETTER OFF when I do my homework and stick to what I think I should play than when I talk myself out of plays, rely too much on info of others, get scared off by weather reports of "possible rain," or play teams off how they were last year, the fact they are at home, or overall reputation. I've had my share of tough weeks, but I've also had solid winning weeks, too. I'm looking to bounce back and do have confidence in myself that I can indeed do so. Good luck to all. Sorry for rambling. haha
