On the course!
...and your bets have been winning!

Let's see you stay off of them when you are down late in the game!

Jack,
Outstanding!
Day 6 and seeing yourself as a non-smoker!
Till I convinced myself of that I always kinda thought I might cheat (I even kept an open pack hidden)

made it through day 6.

5 hours in the car--no cigs

8 beers--no cigs

the first day i was around smokers--no cigs

DTB--i don't think it's any easier. maybe a little easier than day 1 or 2. it's just not a consideration anymore. no cigarettes!

man....i was smoking damn near 3 packs a day. amazing. didn't think i could stop.

i don't really feel any better. i don't cough as much as before but feel better? i don't think. maybe that takes time. i never really felt bad to begin with. maybe this is normal?

I agree with DTB. Stand up and be proud of what you are doing.

Congrats to both of you.

Madjack,

It was a 3 year battle for me 20 years ago. It was a 4 step program. Here's how I succeeded. You will too!

#1 It took 3 months to squelch the immediate urge. Almost failed when James Worthy missed those 2 free throws with 2 seconds left vs Georgetown in NCAA final. Hershey bars helped.

#2 One full year to get the cigs out of my dreams. Took it as a strong personal challenge.

#3. Next full year reprogramming my body. Going through situations that once were smoking oriented to now smoke-free. Example, 4th and goal--did not light up. Also, the morning coffee and after meal--did not light up.

#4. Third year trying to figure out where all the weight came from? Became a big eater because of substitution and regaining my taste buds. Finding an exercise program that enabled me to eat and shed fat. Side note: Did all this while my ex-old lady was smoking up a storm.

It will be nice to experience walking up and down a few flight of stairs without huffing and puffing. KEEP IT GOING JACK. You'll hate yourself if you even consider going back to the poison.
