Has anyone heard of any progression towards banning offshore gaming for those in the U.S.? I have a good chunk money at a lot of books and am concerned that they won't be able to pay if there is a ban and all U.S. clients are forced to pull out their money. Thanks for any thoughts on this topic.

There's lotsa rumors flying etc. Industry insiders including lawyers feel that nothing will be done anytime soon regarding this issue.

There are a TON of companies opening that do what paypal did and their not located within u.s. jurisdiction. Bank electronic funds transfers work too. If something does happen though, its not likely for at least a couple years and by that time technology will have grown faster than legislation. Frankly, they are probably more concerned with a way to tax this than to stop it. Gambling has been going just as long as prostitution and a handful of other things deemed illegal. Taxation and regulation is the answer, not prohibition.

I agree with flag when he says that there's too much money involved- but that's the major reason to LEGALIZE it in the U.S. I think the government could make a pretty penny. Look at Las Vegas. They don't pay sales tax simply because they generate more than enough money on gambling income. I think the government could benefit for legalizing internet gambling- or better yet, gambling of any kind.
