Just made reservations for the middle of Feb. Harrahs offered my wife and I 2 free nights plus free airfare as well as ground transportation upon arrival. We have never been to this Casino, have any of you? If so, what's it like. Thanks

The Grand got its ass handed to it by Katrina.

I believe they are still operating in the 1st floor of their hotel, so they have downsized TREMENDOUSLY, as the boat got knocked the **** out ....

I would suggest checking out the Beau Rivage and also the Hard Rock Casino...

Enjoy your trip !!

I dont think the Grand even has the poker room back up but we haven't been there in about 6 months.

Beau Rivage has some good high stakes games, I'd suggest checking it out...but bring some cabbage !!

Thanks guys. UGA 12 would like a report on the table games. Mainly Blackjack. Denomination and single deck ? ife likes the slots so any report on them would also be appreciated. Check and see what the food options are. Buffett, steak house or bar food. Thanks

Hell I don't know
Just got back from there about 3 weeks ago. I suggest driving along the coast one day and seeing the damage. Way worse than I could have ever thought. I didn't like the grand much. I really liked hard rock however. I have some pictures... if I can figure out how to post them I will. :SIB

The water came whipping through there and cleaned out the 1st floors of EVERYTHING.

Some of those plantations have been there for a couple hundred years, and never had any problem before...it's amazingly sad !!

Kinda disappointed to tell you the truth boilermaker. As was stated earlier the casino was wiped out and they have essentially made a makeshift casino out of their convention area at the hotel. Very limited tables, maybe 20 with only 2-3 of those dealing BJ during the day(only time we played) Most of the tables were devoted to house games that leave no chance of winning(3 card,4 card, flop, etc) No single decks, 1 $10 table, 1 $25 table and a $50 table. Mant slots, mostly nickle and quaters though there were a few $1 and $5. Not a slot player so thats all I know. All I saw was a buffet, it made a turd but It was nothing special. Overall they are doing the best with what they have to work with but I would recommend IP, The Beau, Hard Rock, and a few others as far as gaming. The room was pretty nice for whatever thats worth:shrug: Let me know if there is anything else,
