Curious why you like Penn State -2.5?
Iowa is coming off a complete domination of a poor Ohio State team and now gets to play at Happy Valley against one of the Big 10 doormats as a 2.5 point dog?
Maybe its because Iowa has yet to win on the road yet this season that this line is why it is, because its sure not because of the talent of these two squads.
Since the embarrasment of the Arizona State game, Iowa has visited Ann Arbor and turned the ball over 5 times, leading directly to 27 of Michigan's 30 points; and then beat up MSU and OSU at Kinnick.
The offensive line woes that the Hawkeyes experienced earlier this season are but a distant memory with the return of starting C Brian Ferentz, the coach's son. They are allowing Drew Tate the time he needs to find his recievers and our running backs--of which we are running out of-- to gain some yards on the ground to keep the defenses honest.
Tate in only his first season as a starter is arguably the 2nd best QB in the league behind All-World Kyle Orton at Purdue. Granted, the QB play in the big-10 is nothing to write home about, but this kid Tate is for real after sharing the big-10 offensive player of the week award by beating Ohio State like a group of red-headed step-children this past Saturday.
I don't understand this line and I jumped all over the Hawkeyes like white on rice when this line came out and will probably add to my position as the week progresses.
Hope to hear some of your reasoning as to why you would play Penn State in this spot. Thanks!
