About time I started one of these - hasn't cursed Stan of late - mind you with picks like these.....
OK - starting a new statistical approach as I have been doing shite for a while
my 11 against the field are:eek:

Rich Beem
Mark Calcavecchia
Fred Funk
Matt Gogel
John Huston
Jerry Kelly
Matt Kuchar
Ian Leggatt
J.L. Lewis
Scott McCarron
Duffy Waldorf

Won't say what price I will back them at (Forums have ears ya know!)
but have backed Beem 200/1 and Leggatt at 125/1 - both Sporting Odds
Also now backed Lewis at 125/1 Paddy Power

Wil opt for a couple E/W outrights this week as fieldis week. Got a couple old timers I am going on @ 365
Triplett 40/1 and Haas 50/1 both for 1 unit each total.

Trip has a 3rd and 6th here in 3 attempts in last 5 years and is ranked 5th in scoring average of field on this course.

Haas last 2 have been cuts here but reeled of 3 straight top 20's prior,is in form of his life and hails from S Carolina.I seen sicker dogs get well. Will defer other wagers at cut. Somehow I do not think they will continue to offer place wagers only at cut in the near future.

I am a bit stuck on this one...was waiting for Verplank, but he has not entered..leaves me with:
Kelly..not the best closer there is..only 28/1
Furyk..cannot putt this year to save life..16/1 bad price
So, will go with one:
Choi..not very inspiring form, but has got a few mentions this year and was 8th last time out, at Bell South I will go 1ew 66/1 at Netbet 1st 6 1/5 odds

Matt Kuchar.
Surprised to get as high as 50/1 at Hills last night (now 40/1 Bet365 & Sporting Odds but now 50/1+ at betfair).
Promising young player who recorded his maiden win in the Honda earlier this season, following a 4th in Hawaii.
Played few events last year but turned up here to finish 17th, then later managed Air Canada 3rd and Texas 2nd

The worst feeling in golf is to back someone who loses and then wins the following week without any of your cash on..... but after securing 40/1 on Rocco last week... I have ignore the lower prices this week after that dismal missed cut.... hope he has another shocker this week.... ( bear grudges? who me?)

Lots of doubts over those at the head of affairs but not much lower down to jump up and down about, so it's

Matt Kuchar was 50/1 yesterday, which was a decent price...wish I'd had more on now!

Jerry Kelly - can just about forgive last week, will take the 25 at NBS rather than 28 elsewhere to get the sixth place

Kelly 28/1, I hope he can recover from last week's disaster. Solid record here. Have also gone for two course specialists, Hart at 33/1 and Triplett at 50/1. Hopefully they can rediscover some form this week.

My main selections are Dudley Hart and Mark Calcavecchia. Others with outside chances Joel Edwards, Jeff Maggert and Rich Beem ( I agree with Ian 200/1 looks big).

Best bet of the week

European Tour - Diego Borrego to beat Anders Hansen (72 hole - Intertops)

Cheers

:D

Glad to have you on board Pompey Boy :D But there is one particularly strict rule at Mad Jacks and that is no advertising in posts. Please add your site address to your profile. We will then be able to see that you have a website and can get there by clicking on that link ;)

Aplogies

Not a big fan of futures, usually only bet place bets as they are far more profitable. But a weak field getting weaker is the time to play outight's IMO. So will play Calc and Kuch this week.

I've noticed when anyone on this site start to agree on something it invariably falls flat on its face. To change this curse I believe bettingmad should get a DL3 Avatar. I think it will be good for the Forums Feng Shui.;)

Monarch,
Perhaps we should just think positively... this could be the week.

To show faith I am adding Kuchar at 5/6 to beat Chris Riley at bet365 (with 2 in the Canaries thread Martin & Borrego that gives an 11/2 treble)

I have to concur DTB, it's like those times you never know what you've got till it's gone. Here's to hoping Stanley is up and running again next week.

I must agree that Stanley's computer problems have hobbled my golf "handicapping".
