I saw on AOL last week that some outlet called Spinner listed its Top 25 "Greatest first lines in music history."

I thought the list was AWFUL.....too many rap songs and songs that I never heard of.

I say we start our own list here at Madjacks.

I will throw out a few that didn't make the list and you can tell me what you think...and offer up a few you think are the best.

Remember.....it MUST be the FIRST line of the song......not the chorus or whatever.
Also, the line should be entertaining, shocking, or powerful...and makes you go "WOW"

My favorite one is from Honky Tonk Woman, by the Roling Stones....................................................."I met a gin-drenched bar room queen in Memphis."

How about Jumper, from Third Eye Blind..........."I wish you would step off from that ledge my friend."

"We don't need no...education."....... by Pink Floyd.

Gentlemen, please, with all due respect, there is none better than...

"Hey, hey, mama, said the way you move, gonna make you sweat, gonna make you groove..."

Robert Plant, circa 1971 Led Zepplin IV.
