I had no money on the game nor did I really care who won, but the announcers failed to mention a mistake Gruden made.
Oakland should have called a timeout before Vinatieri's game-tying kick in regulation. After Brady ran for no-gain on 3rd and 10 from the Oak 28, Gruden should have stopped the clock right there. Oakland would have gotten the ball back with about a minute left and two timeouts with a chance to WIN with Janakowski. Instead, the Raiders let Vinatieri and the Pats eat up 30 seconds before nailing the tying field goal. Oakland then decided to take a knee with like 22 seconds remaining. They would never take another snap again. Bad coaching in my opinion.
