Fuck Auburn. We really have the worst coach in the entire fucking conference (depending on who UT hires) and a lot of our fanbase is happy with it because he is faithful to his wife. FUCK

Any fanbases accepting walk-ons???
LMAO, TL. It will be ok. The folks on College Football Live, including former Oregon HC and AD, Belotti (spelling) really like Gus and many are saying that he was the architect of building Auburn while Chizek was there and Gus has a great track before coming to Auburn. He'll at least get some bonafide recruits to the school, something that wishy washy Chizek wasn't able to do.

Auburn is a top 10 program coaching dream, and of the schools looking for a coach was the one most sought after by name coaches that wanted to move or was available,,,national champ 2 years ago and heisman winner,,,,I understand the believe in your school theory JRush, but ,,are you truly happy with the hire or are you just being loyal to your school, which is admirable btw?

I'm an American American
Pretty sure everyone understands the people making the decision weren't looking for best available. I don't agree at all but I'll be supporting Gus even as I expect him to struggle with the relentless succession of athletic physical defenses. My guess is others (like the guys above) will as well once they get over being mad. Especially if by some chance we are wrong and he succeeds.

In my view the only interesting thing was that he mentioned the style D he intends to play in the first 60 seconds of the presser. Attacking style, etc. means he won't be straddling the fence at all and we'll concede a up and down the field game every week like no one very has in this league (based on my recollection - Hal Mumme and UK don't count). He was bridled by Cheez and Nutter so it'll finally be his baby.

We'll be on fire one way or another. Should be interesting.

Please, Jrush. Educate us on why we are douchey and what our opinion should be of this hire so we don't look stupid in the future.

I was joking about joining another fanbase, but I don't see how anyone could be excited about this hire other than Chizik is no longer the coach. The search process was a joke and most people thought we would JABA this one and get Gus months ago. We incorrectly had higher expectations of our Athletic Director and President to make a home run hire. Probably because Alabama did it a few years ago and it worked.

Petrino was the correct hire for an immediate fix and drastic change of attitude the program needs. Gus is not a "Bad" hire, just disappointing when compared to hiring an elite coach with proven track record of getting the most out of his players, while keeping them out of off field trouble. Please do not respond with anything regarding "his record vs. Saban" because that angle is dogshit and little-brother syndrome at it's finest.

Gus can eventually turn this program around. Give him a homerun defensive staff and we will be back to winning 8, maybe 9 games a year by 2014-2015. Which will appease most of our fanbase because people have grown accustomed to mediocrity. Tuberville averaged what 8.5 wins a season at AU and only the hardcore fans wanted him out prior to the end of 2008.

If Auburn can get a top 25-30th ranked defense and a really good dual-threat QB, the Gus system can get us to Atlanta. Do I think it will happen? Will wait and see. I want it to happen. Nobody wants AU to lose. Just think anyone that excited about this hire is setting themselves up for disappointment when we go 6-6 next year and play in the Papa John's Bowl.

What bowl are you playing in this year? Many don't go from A-Z overnight

I am rather dissapointed and will not contribute to the University. I truely beleive we are a top 10 program (Or were a top 10 program) Its hilarious that we dont take patrino whom we know would do an excelent job. We choose yet another coach with 1-2 years expereince (but he does at least have a winning record). They better only sign him for the contract that they already owe. We could use the left over money to hire some more recruits like he did with CAM.
Conclusion:
I am not happy unless we are paying him less than 500k then you get what you pay for. I believe that was all Chez was worth.

I see they don't teach english at Arkansas or you didn't attend a college at all... unless Arkansas mentality considers going from 3-9 to 6-6 in a year to be going from A-Z or going from 3-9 to 8-4 in 2 years...

thought the people at madjacks would be better than that... normally when the NCAA investigates and declares the team is clean, they mean it.

I never knew they declared the program clean. WTG! :0074

Offered to MSU for $180k. . . and then he goes to Auburn. . . .

A beat writer on the Ivan Maisel show said a Clemson coach pulled him aside and said that "they're not paying the right players."

Auburn football = one big joke
