Buffalo reeling. Haven't lost 2 in a row all year but I say this is the spot. Montreal would be my pick here even if all was equal, but it's not. Here are some factors that push me hard to the Habs:

Teppo likely out, another rookie D from Rochester expected to be called up;

Drury battling virus, did not practice yesterday;Mair may play but banged up with groin injury;

4th game of 5 game road trip fopr Buf, coming off no show in florida;

Buf has been giving away the puck consistently the last few games, even in wins, don't get away with that in Mon;

see Montreal opening as slight home dog in the paper (my site doesn't have line yet).

Buf leads the season series at 2-0-1. Souray goal with one second left in OT last time may have been lucky, but Mon has played well enough to win in all of these games, matches up well vs. Buf overall and is due for a W.

Generally try to avoid betting "my team", especially against them with bad mojo and all, but it's about the $ and I just see all signs pointing to a Montreal win (I think by at least 2 goals but I'll stick with the ML to be safe).

Go ahead and give me reasons why this doesn't make sense.

Buff, Right now, i havent bet the game but... i lean on Buffalo stricly for revenge factor. Last time Montreal won in Buffalo and i heard french hockey players from Buffalo team saying on tv that they want nothing else than to beat the Habs at their home as revenge for what as happened last time. In addition, i heard they were pretty upset about themself in the locker room after the game vs Florida and wants to get back on track vs the habs. They know the game will be tough but they look like pretty ready to me! Anyhow didnt know about those injuries or virus from Buffalo side...:shrug: We might be better to stay off that game...

1837: Thx for the sanity check. Interesting points.
Sabes have been road warriors but they've been whistling by the graveyard lately. In addition to giveaways, scoring touch appears to be off, tons of opportunities v. Fla in front of the net, none cashed. Could it all be minor lapse? Sure. But as a homer who sees almost every game, it smells like a pattern. Maybe it's just my wishful thinking that the wake up call comes now and early, with NJ next to ring the buzzer. Just want to get it our of the way and avoid Ottawa blueprint from last year.

A little perspective from the Buffalo side of things. With my record this week, I'll stick to facts and not offer any opinions.

It was reported yesterday that there was a renewed sense of "seriousness" during the Sabres' practice. Lindy Ruff didn't skate them to death, but the usual informaility was gone. However, Teppo Numminen hurt his toe (no official word, but it looks as though he wont play), and Chris Drury has the flu (he likely WILL play, but we've all had the flu).

Just food for thought.

Billy Boy: I am liking the under 6.5......Matter of fact I have pulled the trigger already:firing: .......Buff is struggling offensively and MTL plays good D..Usually hate totals but I am expecting a tight game........
I agree with you on the MTL side but the Sabes allways play well when you don't expect them to........
By the way I am on the IR for hoops.....will call you Mon........1MPP

1MPP: good point on the under and this team always finding a way. Sry to hear about the IR, another pulling of the groin area? hope its not serious, we still got some curlin' in our future. Played 3 on 3 last night, forgot to call you but guess it was moot.

UB looking good to cover the 14 v Pitt in 1st half but they have played out of their minds.

Going to Niagara hockey tonight. L8r.

The only 2 reasons I think that Buffalo will win tonight is that their coming off a 3-1 loss to a pathetic Florida team that had Auld stand on his head, while Buffalo out shot them 2 to 1.... the other factor is Buffalo has a more well balanced team that doesn't rely on the top line and Souray to score....Buffalo has 4 lines that can score on any given shift .....Montreal doesn't the second line isn't scoring an the whole MTL nation is blaming it on Samsonov...... prediction Buffalo 4 - 2.....

wow!
