The year is 1968, cops chasing bank robbers with a million in cash, rural Texas.
They lose cops on a closed brush overgrown road, end up driving into a very deep river. The driver drowns, the wounded partner is in jail, tells the story to his bunk-mate.
20 years later....1988 Hap & Leonard are broke, picking roses
for a living in the area.
Hap's ex turns up, bangs him,tells him the story, recruits their help to find the money.
Lots of quirky characters(kinda Fargo-like).
What's interesting is the banter between Hap and his best buddy
Leonard, a black Vietnam vet.
