2 months, 27 days..........and I broke down. Had a smoke with my dad who's visiting in town.

The first few drags..........mmm mmmmmm yummy, then comes the buzz.....mmmmm mmmmmmm so good.

THEN comes the after taste..............YUCK, ARGH, PUKE.

Damn, I was so proud of myself, too. Just didn't have enough self control, and I blame it all on my dad. :D Haven't dipped for 4 yrs and damn proud of it, but couldn't quit smoking for even 3 months. Well, time to start another streak. :D

Still smoking, Jack? How about you, Bear? :nono:

I'm no Quitter, but I am a failure!

Well at least as far as smoking goes! Up to this point I've Failed to quit! I've tried several times and REALLY want to finally get it right!

I wish you the best! maybe you'll inspire me!

thats the great thing you can start over:D forget that you had a slip that is the past and if you live in the past or worry about the future then hell you missed out on today and for all of us i don't care who you our today is all we have:)

as some of you might know i am a little bit of a control freak and it showed in my nba post:( well thats what happens to me when i worry about others and try to think i can bully or change your thoughts about me,well i can't and no-one can i can only take care of myself and thats enough, anything else is up to my higer power who i choose to call good,if i try to take over thats when you see me blow up:shrug:

so now you start over and don't worry about the streak or what was or what is to come, just rejoice in the day you are in and life will go much better, show me someone that has not had a slip in trying to quit any addictive behavior and you are looking at someone that is telling a lie to themself.

so hey thurs is a new day and just say today i will be smoke free if i want one i will do it tomorrow, then wake up and say the same thing and guess what tomorrow will never come and thats the great part of it.

good luck and just smile:D

Thanks, Red Raider and Fletch. Like I said before, I don't blame myself, I blame MY DAD for giving me the cig. :D :D

On a side note. Good luck on your new business venture. Whether fellow MadJackers agree with your move or not, you and Ray have handled it with class, and for that, FWIW, you have my utmost respect. If I ever decide to pay for a service, you and Ray are the first ones I'd look to. (ok ok I'll stop kissing ass)

Here's to smoke free day #1 tomorrow. :D

Dubs:

My guess is that you werent ready to quit and you really wanted a cigarette when your dad offered. Don't get to down on yourself for the set back.

I quit smoking 150 times before I quit the last time on June 1, 1993. That time it took. Haven't had a cigarette since. Still able to enjoy a cuban here and there as well as a couple of cigars per round of golf.

Keep on setting goals of quitting and start them up. One time, when both your mind and body are right, it will take and you will be smoke free. Tough thing to do as you know, but worth it when you are successfull.

Good luck to you,
Eddie
