Happy New Years and another Big Dog

2-0 yesterday in hoops, including a nice SU dog winner on St. Josephs, 3-0 including the "winning by the skin of my teeth" under in the NBA. Thats 6-1 over the last two days in hoops but I wont be trying for winner number 6 in a row in the NBA since I dont like either game. Nice streak going and hopefully it will last a little bit longer. I do like two games in NCAA hoops. Big dogs have been working lately for me so why stray away from that.

Middle Tennessee State + 15 1/2 over Murray State - Line keeps rising on this one but thats okay ill take as may points as I can get.

Fresno State +2 over Tulsa

Clearly Murray State has the edge in talent, depth and strength of schedule to this point but this is a bitter rivalry. They already played in December with Murray State winning by 7 points at MTSU. I think the high line is due to MTSU being 0-4 on the road and reciprocally, Murray State has been tough at home. The linemakers set a line the public will bet on and early on that was exactly what was happening as the line opened at -15, jumped to 15 1/2 and then to 16. Now it is starting to come back down. In addition, I run a program that tells me at what percentage a game is likely to hit at with the current line included and this game is in the 60% for MTSU. 60% may not sound like alot but for this system it is significant. All the big dogs that i have hit with over the last 2 days all fell into the 60% range as well. Here are some scores from previous meetings

There have been some blowouts but for the most part the games have been close or under the 15 1/2 spread. Since I try to take the emotional element out of handicapping (because emotionally I would want to go with Murray State) I have to stick with the system that has worked for me and play the games regardless of my personal opinion, therefore you have some plays that are dogs that really test my intestinal fortitude!!!
