bandits........which tracks do you play at? Mohawk, Woodbine??

I follow harness racing on a regular basis. Have RTN (Race Track Television Network) subscribed to on satellite.

Likewise, don't see much talk about the standardbred around here.....definately would like to see more......been following the sport for about 12 years, but I can't say the same about thoroughbred racing....rarely pay any attention to the runners.

Have any currently racing?

I love the sport. I don't get to the track as much as I used to,which was pretty much on a daily basis at Northfield Park. Still, I keep tabs on the harness scene fairly closely. I read that Bill Wellwood died, what a great trainer he was.

When vacationing in Ontario we manage to hit a few of the tracks. I have been to Barrie(now Georgian) Kingston, London,Windsor,Flamboro,Greenwood, and Woodbine. My favorite though was Kawartha Downs. We spent a lot of time there back in the early 90s. I met a few of the horsemen there and drank tons of Molsons export ale with a trainer on the Ontario circuit, His name is Bob young and his racing colors were maroon and gold. Perhaps you know of him.

enough of my ramblings but wanted to let you know that I love the Canadian harness circuit.

I like you would love to see more on harness racing.I have been a capper for 15 years.I have seen alot of changes.I also have owned some horses, mainly cheap claimers.
If anyone else would like we could proably start posting harness picks and thoughts.
In my following I havent found much out there either.

What a coincidence, just walked in from otb to watch a friend of mine's horse race at Yonkers and checked the at the track forum for the first time in about 3 weeks and look what i find. Of the 1000 or so posters here i thought i was the only trotting guy. iam actually in the process of getting my Q license, went to the driving school in Ohio last May. Iam also a certified equine massage therapist and use that as a bartering tool to jog horses up at yonkers and a couple of farms on long island. ill have to check in here more often.
ndnfan,
if you harness handicapping is anything like your baseball handicapping i cant wait to get to the windows.

Sorry i havent responded soonerwas out of town. I play mostly woodbine and Mohawk. I dibble and dabble in a few horses, Whaler who posts regularly on hockey is a good friend of mine and is a major ownerhere in Toronto.Ya Billy died (Wellwood) he was a great guy and an excellent horseman. He did a lot of good things for the sport. Anyway i will try and keep up to date with you guys on this post and you never know we may even click on a good one in the near future.
