Has Big Green Egg had any deals before Christmas in years past?

If not, what time of year is best to purchase. I assume they are still the best product for smoking, etc.? Thanks.

You have to find a local dealer and ask. I don't think they ship those things and you're gonna want it delivered assembled.

They are headquartered here in Atlanta, I heard the original store was out East of me in Lilburn/Tucker area. Just wondered if anyone knew of better time to buy. I will give you a call Nick. Thanks.

Yeah, the best time to buy one is at one of their food festivals and I'm sure they have several a year down in your area.

Char-griller Akorn kamado grill - $300
condition: excellent
make / manufacturer: Char-griller
model name / number: Akorn

Char-griller Akorn Kamado grill. Similar to Big Green Egg but made out of insulated steel instead of fragile ceramic. Cook all year long, even in winter. This can do low and slow cooks for ribs, brisket, pork, etc all the way up to 700 degrees for the best steak you'll ever eat!

Also included is an Auber PID (http://www.auberins.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=14_27&products_id=395) with high-temperature thermocouple probe good to 800+ degrees. What this box does is regulate the air flow so you have the perfect grill temperature. You start your coals, set desired temperature, close the lid and in 15 minutes this thing will have your grill at whatever temp you want. It truly takes all the "guess work" out of starting and maintaining charcoal to prevent runaway temps.

I have used this at least twice a week for the past two years but realized that it's simply too big of a grill for two people in my opinion. It does not have a cover as it sat underneath a covered porch it's entire life out of the elements.

This is a great option for families that have active children. Due to the fact that it is insulated, when the inside is up to temp the outside is only warm to the touch so it is almost impossible to burn yourself on it--something that traditional charcoal grills and gas grills cannot claim.
