Have NE @ 60:1---input?

A friend & I took out a $75 N England ticket in Sept. at 60 to 1 to win the Super Bowl. (Nasa S book) Well, 0-2 and then 1-3 set in and we considered it gone painlessly as their season was looking to be over quickly. I do know better than that as the fat lady hadn't sung yet ......... but she already ate her burgers & ice cream & had the microphone in her hand. I know, I saw her. A nice ticket, but with the baggage of a 14 pt. dog. Anyway, it is paying $4500 to win and we were wondering if anybody had any reasonable/ exotic ideas to hedge some of it someway other than the traditional ML which seems to be a beating right now. Probably going to parlay some of it & try to hit the O/U with it. Anybody ?

Patriots buy back ???

Patriots buy back ???

Hitman:

I haven't seen a posted money line yet, have you? I'm guessing it will be in the -900 range for the Rams. If it is this high, you're kind of screwed going that way ... you'd lay $3600 to win $400, basically locking in a $400 profit either way, but what fun is that?

Maybe wait until half-time, hope like hell the Patriots play well in the first half and get a much better money line number on a Rams second half play ... maybe even have a chance for a middle. Obviously, the Patriots need to shine in the first half for this to be a reasonable play, but it could certainly happen.

Good Luck. I'll be interested to see what others think about this.

Another more dangerous option would be to take a Rams prop at -6 ... maybe around -240 or so ??? just guessing. Obviously, this puts you in the dangerous position of middling yourself right out of a profit.

The ML I saw was 550. Hitman what you should do would be to put yourself in a no lose position. Put enough on St. Louis to cover your initial investment plus enough to make a profit. Why gamble when you all ready have the game beat? The amount of course is up to you. Too bad the ML is so high you will have to lay alot.

I got a future on Rams at EVEN, so I'll try a little cash on the middle ,for my bet.
For yours I'd maybe lay a bit on the HUGE moneyline, just to cover enough for a free dinner or something.
Good luck...Spanky...:p :p :p

My book has St. Louis @ -600.

I would lay $3600 to win $600. If NE wins, you win your future minus the $3600. This is $900. Not bad!

If St. Louis wins, you win the money line bet minus your future bet. This is $525. Not bad either!

I would put myself in a situation where I win a similar amount of money no matter who wins. This way you can just sit back, have a few brews and enjoy the game.

Let us know what you decide.

Thanks to everyone for their input. Havent decided yet.....the half time play is interesting,of course, if the pats come out of the first half decent.......but then of course, if they are up by then, maybe we dont want to hedge at all ! still have a lotta time to decide.

I'm still waiting to see how much I'm going to play on N.Eng. more to get the middle than protection on any of my RAMS bet at EVEN..
There is no rush,I'm really waiting to get 14 1/2 I guess.
It's just hard to figure HOW MUCH I want to play,It's a tough call isn't it ???
Spanky.....:) :) :) :)

when you bought the ticket, your thoughts were how fantastic
it would be to wager 75 to win 60x.....you are NOW in that
position....don't piss in your pants....so your out 75 if they lose
the game.....BFD.....if they WIN the game, BINGO....as strange
as this NFL season has been, HIT THE DOG......SU.....Best of LUCK
to ALL....:toast:

dont know if this helps but some books offer margin of victory props...st louis to win by 1-6 pts 6:1, 7-12 pts 7:2, 13-18 pts 5:2 and 19-24 9:2. i think 25-30 was 10:1...you could try to hedge by using these props granted there is also some risk..

WIGS< Thanks alot, I'll look at some of the 'props' they got out and try to figure out what the heck I want to do, IF ANYTHING,dam,I'm not sure what I want to do . Should just sit on my 2 plays ,they are great 'value' ,shit, most people would kill to have Rams @ -6 1 /2 and RAMS at EVEN (NO JUICE TOO), how nice are those ?????
I'm just thinking more about trying to grab the MIDDLE I guess.
Thanks again, Spanky....:)

spanky if you have st louis so low there are some margin of victory props for new england like to win by 1-6 pts 8:1, 7-12 12:1 and if by divine intervention 13-18 20:1...but hey you gotta like your odds right now anyway, tough call......

Thanks everyone for your input. For those who are wondering or are interested: As of now, the big lean is towards letting the majority of me ticket fly with NE & hope for a S/U win. The simple rationale being that if someone walked up to me today & offered me 60 to 1 on ANY pro game dog even up, I would take it. NE is definitely a better than average team, so it is a solid pre-game bet. Some of it will be hedged, probably gonna take St L minus the small number in each quarter. NE wins 3 quarters, I am smilin,' probably & to hell with the hedge. This doesn't guarantee me anything, but if i split the quarters 2-2, I lose vig, NE has a shot to win the game, withholding a blowout quarter. If St. L wins 3 quarters, I lose my big one, but cash for some units enough for a party & cash left over. Rams win 4 quarters & I cash for all 4& of course lose the big ticket. Also, will lay a small amount on St. L & spot 20-21 or so. Whatever it takes to get 4 to 1 or so, I will probably do. I have also middled 600 at 14. NE +14.5 (-100) at Aces & ST L. -13.5 (local)(-110) That one could come out pretty.
It's not perfect, but at +14, it wasnt easy. Good Luck to everyone & Hit Em again, only harder this time. THE HITMAN
