I have seen this question asked all throughout this past year.So ,since we are approaching the anniversary of what may be our Nation's darkest day,I thought it would be interesting to hear what Madjacker's have to say about this:

I will start;

The events from last year made me realize that I always took my freedoms for granted.And we came close to may be losing these freedoms.It is the first time that our mainland has been attacked, by people who hate our existence & want to do us harm.

I also took for granted the work of this country's emengency services.I saw news clips of people running away from the WTC,& at the same time I saw men & women of the NYPD & NYFD running towards the burning buildings without any hesitation.They were just doing the jobs that they were trained to do.These men & women are true heroes.

My opinion on the military has also changed.Pre 9/11, I pretty much took our military for granted.But now ,through news reports I have seen what the men & women in our military sacrifice to fight our enemies & protect our way of life.

My politics have dramatically changed.Pre 9/11 my choices for public office were based on social issues.I also believed that we should mind our own business.If a country leaves us alone,we should not bother with them.Now I believe that we should go after any country or movement that believes in terrorism.There cannot be any terrorism in a civilized society.They are against everything a free society believes in.As a super power we cannot let terrorist groups settle in weakly run countries.As Bush has stated,"you are either with us,or with the terrorists".I will vote now for politicians who I think will be pro military in the war against terrorism.It is more important to protect the American people than worrying about being politically correct.

On a personal level,I have found since 9/11,I have reached out to people that I haven't spoken to in years.I am very much interested in their well being.

I hope the American people do not forget what happened on 9/11 & continue showing support for our war against terrorism.

I would like to see what eveyone else has to say.

These two guys were both from New York.

They spent a lot of time in this forum and made worthwhile contributions.

I don't know why they don't post here anymore.

I never met either of them, but I think of them from time to time.

Mr. Promises Delivered and Matzoh Man.

AR182,

Thanks for taking the time to express your thoughts and feelings about the events and aftermath of 9/11/01. I appreciate what you wrote because I feel very much the same as you.

After reading your post, I turned away from the computer and gathered my wife and teenage daughter.

We sat in the living room and took turns expressing our thoughts and feelings about 9/11 to each other.

This family discussion lasted about 30 minutes.
